I have asked different forums about what the best engine to swap into my 90 Accord is and all i've heard is the H22. Now my question is weither or not that is the best engine i can put in and where to find one. Because all i can find is the H22a.

the h22a is what you want. id recommend getting a complete change over from hmotorsonline.com.

Ok the reason i liked the Royal Japanese Motor. was because it came with the a/c compressor and power steering pump but it didn't have axles and any of the shifter accesories. but i'm not sure if all this stuff on my car will already work with that engine so i might just be buying stuff i don't need. And i'm not sure what the LSD Tranny is. But out of both of those engines if money wasn't much of a option which would you go with?

hmotors all the way, even if you dont get the accessories (i think i got accessories with mine) the company is A+ all the way.

All right you've swayed my mind but i still need some help with the 3 H22a motors the have there:
1.Pretty sure this one is crap. http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30015

2.This one looks to be good. http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30016

3. This one is farely expensive and i'm not sure why other than extra 20hp. And I'd diffenetly get this engine if it is compatable with my car.

you want the one i listed. the first doesnt come with axles, the second comes with everything and the third is a pain in the ass to wire. youve got a lot of things to change if you go with the third option.

Hmm.. I guess i wanted that third engine because of the extra 20hp but i guess what your saying is that with all the mods i'd have to do it's not woth it. but if it just came down to the wireing i'd still perfer that third engine.

you have to convert from obd0 to obd2 (a bitch in itself), you have to switch distributors, you have to rewire the injectors, and you have limited upgrade potential because it is obd2. look bro. the plain and simple of it is, you wanna go with an H22. Not a b16, b18, b20, f20, f22, or h23 AN H22 for the most horsepower per dollar. I dont want to see another thread, and if you searched youll get the explination as to why i keep throwin that same freakin engine back at you. I will delete any more threads created on this topic.

All right man i can see you really know what your talking about. and i can't thank you enough for your help today so far and i will go with the h22a. And the only other question i'd ask is what mods you would do to that engine you directed me to, so i could get more hp out of it.

best mods for the h22a is a tuned program for the engine (requires some dyno time), a light flywheel, and lsd. Those 3 things will do more to lower your ET at the track than anything else you could possibly want. After that, its time to start basic mods (although, i wouldnt, id start off a little differently if i could). Once you do the almost required intake/header/exhaust (all 3 are personal preference, they just help your engine breathe a little better), its time for the REAL engine stuff MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Im about to start getting really in depth just in case someone else is reading that is curious about an NA build for a prelude.

A lot of the parts listed are gonna be OE honda parts and itd be easier to get a lot of these parts used. Only thing i can say is this is gonna take some work.

H23 Crank (95mm stroke)
Modified F23 (141mm) rods (modified for a larger wrist pin)
87.25mm Type S pistons
Adjustable Cam Gears
440cc injectors
H24x Rocket Cams Package (Includes Cams, Springs and Retainers)

Those things should be good for about 220-230whp depending on your tuner (because tuning WILL BE REQUIRED!). Basically whats going on is youre increasing your overall displacement, and your compression ratio while adding a fat cam. Couple all those things with a good tuner and you have potential for some really good power.

Pretty good package of stuff for an engine build, and dont be confused i left stuff like head gaskets, piston rings, bearings, blah blah, so while i only listed about $2500 bucks in parts, the build will probably cost about $4000, assuming you have someone else do it.

Once you get to this point its really more of a fine tuning process in getting everything out of your build.

Hmotorsonline, FTW.

Just buy from them dude, they're one of the best motor importing companies out there. You won't regret it.

In fact, I would contact them (call or e-mail), tell them exactly what kind of car you have, and that you want to do a complete H22 swap, and they will be able to tell you exactly what you need.

Which is why i recommended them earlier. Steve is a very patient guy. About a year and a half ago i was where you are now and steve was infinitely patient with my ignorant ass. I got exactly what i needed when he said id have it. Thats why i recommend them.

Will h22a intake maniflod fit and f22 head I'm not ready to put the h22a in my accord yet and I wanted to know if the intake manifolds are inerchangable

ok so im tryin to understand before i do my swap is im checking out hmotorsonline.com
cuz they really great when i recently did zc swap on hb so i know i can rely on their engines so i see that theirs H22A 92-95 which its cheaper than the the type S H22A
and that the reason i want to go for the type S cuz of the OBD 2 cuz i have 96 lx and i want to keep the wiring slightly simple as i was told that my lx is OBD i dont even know if its true or not?
But i noticed more people get the non type s engine and i dont see or hear them mentioned bout using a conversion harness or modifyin their harness itself how complicating is it just havin the H22A 92-95 wired into 5th gen accord?

pretty easy, just an obd2a->obd1 conversion harness and you should be good to go. Youll have to wire vtec, the IABs and the knock sensor (make sure to use shielded wire), but all that is pretty easy.

The issue with dropping an obd2 car to obd1 is emissions and safety inspection, if your state has it, then you can likely fail the moment they hook the car up to the computer.

You can always leave your car obd2 and find a p5m for your accord. Ive never done a swap into a post 95 chassis, so if i told you what would be required for and obd1-obd2 conversion id be lieing.

Oh and here is my obligitory "Post new questions in a new thread, do not jack someone elses" comment.
