okay so me and my friend were installing his coil overs yesterday in a 94 accord, we had gotten the front installed, and moved to the rear when we were removing the bolt that held on the bottom of the shock, it took a while before it broke but it eventually did.. and so we kept on turnin the wrench and the bolt wouldn't come out, as i go to look under the bolt is already out of the thread and it stretched the end of the shock and also when we turn the bolt the bushing inside spins with it at every turn, the bolt is still stuck im thinkn the bolt is rusted on the bushing... i need to kno whats the easiest way to remove the bolt and the bushing so i can get a new one and is it safe to drive the car without the bolt being bolted in the thread because its pretty stuck and what is the name of the bushing?? thanks n advance

You're talking about the lower control arm bushing. And I probably wouldn't be driving it until it's fixed, just to be safe.

Also, are you re-using the factory shocks? That's not a good idea...especially with coil-overs...

Are these cheater coilovers? Otherwise you wouldnt reuse the shocks.

Did you try inserting an extension or something and pounding the bolt out? if not, dremel or cutoff tool is your friend

Yeah, I assumed they probably are. Otherwise he wouldn't be worried about beating up the shock.

what are cheater coilovers and how do i find out if i have em and will it be safe for me to use with the stock shocks?

A real coil-over has the shock built in, it's an entire shock/spring assembly. Anything else is considered a "cheater" coil-over, basically you're just putting adjustable springs onto different shocks.

And you should always upgrade your shocks for any kind of springs other than stock. If you lower your car on stock shocks they will most likely be blown in a few months...
