I would have to say that an H-series tranny would go best with an H-series motor. The H to B kit is kind of pricey and it really doesnt make sense to me to not use the right tranny for the motor.

They made them in 5 speeds too, but finding a non-AWD 5 speed CRV tranny would be like trying to find, ah well I dont know, but they gotta be hard to find. And even longer gears than an LS tranny.
