it would cost a lot more, get a d16z6 and call it a day, it'll drop right in if i'm not mistaken, but let some of the other people on this site tell you more, i'm just learning too

there is no motor out there that will drop right in to a 88 accord but one and thats a jdm b20a, all other motors other than the stock 86-89 accord and prelude sohc motors will take 100% custom work to make fit and work in the car.

^ Yep, IMO just drive the car as is, but if your dead set on doing a swap I would sell it and buy something more swappable.

NOTE; dont get the b20a confused with the pos b series that came in the usdm preludes the jdm only b20a was a perty good motor

because in japon in the 3rd gen they came stock in them over there and its still a different motor than the one in the prelude

usdm preludes 88-91 This 3rd gen Will not fit in the 86-89 Accord with out major mod's and lot's of cash


This is a 2nd get JDM B20a that will fit in the 86-89 Accord or 85-87 prelude with minor mod's to the wiring.
