Default Water Leak

my 90 accord has a serious water leak in the trunk. i have been fighting this for about 2 years now. when it started it used to fill my trunk with about a foot of water during every decent storm. i have since repaired or replaced the trunk rubber, rear window molding, taillight gaskets, the seam sealer on the factory welds, and the antenae. despite this, water still manages to get in when it rains. it has slowed down alot, but is still enough to prevent me from putting any trim or carpet back in my trunk. has anybody with a 4th gen accord had this problem before? any ideas on where the hell its coming in?!?!?!

Are your rear quarter panels rusted? look in the wheel well for rust holes too. That was the problem i had im my old 93 EX. Rear quarters where rusted and in rain storms it came in like a mo-fo... if that aint it id say you might not be getting a good seal around your trunk lid. Even with a new seal look for dents in there where the seal goes.

get ahold of a party fog machine or some dry ice/bucket of water. Insert in trunk, close lid, watch to see where the smoke comes out. Done deal.

all the posts about 90 accord problems were probably all me. i just joined and i'm finally getting help on all the problems with my little p.o.s. as and far as the drain hole; thats my current set up and has been for two years. it just gets old having metal for a trunk and not being able to store anything in there during the rain. i think i have the leak pin pointed to corners near my hinges. that could be either the rubber or the molding, i can't quite tell where its dripping down. i gess ill have to attack it with a shit ton of seam sealer AGAIN and see where that gets me............

"seam sealer" Not like caulking or sealing putty or anything right? Don't make it any worse for yourself

Fold down your backseat climb in there with a flashlight and have your friend spray around the trunk area while you look for the leak.

yea been there with the water hose trick many times..... used to find the leaks quick because they were obvious. now the leak is smaller and more allusive. most of the time i cant get it to leak with a hose, but sure enough the next rain we get i find a little puddle in my trunk. i found that if i park my car facing uphill then the water seems to run off and it won't leak. but if i park it facing downhill it puddles up in my channels and it leaks into the trunk. so i'm pretty sure it's my rubber leaking on the corners. any pointers on fixing this? the rubber looks to be in good shape, so what would make it not seal?
