Default 86 monte carlo LSS

ok so here goes my build thread for my car..
its an 86 originally an LS..car has an entire SS front end swap.has the sway bars and everything..basically the only thing thats not SS is the trunk(doesnt have the spoiler) and possibly rearend(ill find out when the weather gets better, burnouts FTW)
but anyway supposedly has a rebuilt 350 in it with a th350 trans..
car has hooker headers,mr gasket electric fuel pump,mr gasket adjustable FPR,pro flow intake manifold,15" american racing wheels, and a functional 4" cowl induction hood,
Plans are,im fixing the very little bodywork it needs and then after xmas ill be painting it metallic black(the kit i had for my rex) i probably should put some new tires on it so im going to check out what size my racecar rims were and maybe use the hankook street tires from those on the AR rims..then mount the set of hoosier slick on the racecar wheels for the track,
overall the car is in pretty damn good condition..

Get some 1/8" strap about 1 1/2" wide and box in your control arms in the rear. That with some poly bushings will make a BIG difference for cheap!
Talk to the original owner to see if they still have the 200r4, and see if you can get it, have it rebuilt, you'll love it.
I have an extra set of vortech heads too.?? I don't have the casting # right now though.

The aftermarket has tons of stuff for the G-body!

Good luck, PM me if you need parts. I just may have it/them

it's probably either an LT1 (70-72), L82 (73-80), or an L81...but I doubt it's the L81

true, I didn't even think about that chances are it's fuel injected. whenever anyone I knew did a 350 swap, even if it was injected they ripped everything out and just ran it carbed

The guy you bought it from probably did what I said, he probably took the FI manifold and all that off and threw on the pro flo intake and a carb and called it a day.

Looks good.

You should throw a tuned port top end on it. They get dogged a lot, but if you setup em up right they perform.

IDK, I think he's right. I dont see chrome trim and crap on an SS. They got plastic molded in bumpers like the front end.

I think the Aero Coupe was the Dale Earnhardt edition.
The one with the bubble rear windshield.

If you get under the car and look on the axle from the trans end, there should be a stamp on the pass side tube about 6-8" from the 'chunk'.
I had to use a flapper/grinder to clean off the paint to look for the stamping.
And just like most all the GM's, it should be stated on the tag under the hood on the firewall. And it should be a 3.73 gear with the stock swaybar. I think for an SS it already had the hp suspension. I'm not sure if they called it "F-41" or not. If you can find a build sheet that would be great. It can be up ontop of the gas tank, behind the rear seat, under the springs or in a door..
Take a look at the 'N.M.C.O.A.' they should have all the info you would ever need for your new baby.
