I'm not so much worried about cost. I just wanna make my own thing and see how it turns out. In time, I'll just invest in a real one and cut the small guy out...

Well, I'm in the process of buying that prelude nipple to replace the black box to go to the catch can. Oh, and remember, this a A6 block.

I guess I'll have to figure out a way to incorporate a filter on the top of the can somehow. won't be hard, just got to find a filter.

Ah crap. I completely forgot that you were building a D. I just got into B series mode because we were talking about the blocks. You know what? You could probably have the catch can drain into the top of the oil pan like a turbo drain line.

Hmm.... sounds like a good bit of work for just a oil drain.
Heres what the back of my block looks like:

I don't see any place to put it.

You need 94-95 Legend GS Sedan Dual Piston Calipers... or any 90-95 Legend will work or NSX... LOL

well, w/e. thats the stamp on them, and i'll just make sure it's dual piston.

ITR< Legend GS dual piston!!! lol

my crx is gonna either 1. stop like a mofo, or 2. lock up all the time...

I was referring to the plug to insert it into the block(the drain), not the can.
I'll probably place the can right where the stock black box was.

The breather box has to be fed from the block through some kind of fitting, right? Use what's left after you remove the stock box.

Hmm......

I'll see what I can do when the motor is here and I can look at it. I'm not familiar with how the PCV box connects to the block, but I might be able to utilize it somehow. Most people opt to freeze-plug it and buy the Prelude nipple to run the catch can system on.

We'll see!

For an Update, I just had all the tires mounted/balanced and threw them on the car. (look AWSOME),

I had to ship out my adj. cam gear to KMS because I'm an idiot and didn't send it with the motor(no idea why). But they told me thats the last thing they have to do, to set the cam gear and check everything over one last time, check for VTEC engagement, etc.
This whole deal has probably raised my blood pressure a few pounds, but they're knocking off $400, so thats helping me keep sane. (actually, i've worked out a great deal with the folks... I sold my truck, gave them the money, so I only have to pay about $250 out of pocket for a fully built Z6!!! ) ... So when I think of it that way, I feel I'm getting a great deal... even though I'm forced to wait 4 months for it to get back from the builders...

Pardon my noobness, but what is the point of all this catchcan business. What's wrong with the stock breather box?

its restricting, it puts nasty air back into the intake to be burned off(for emissions reasons), clogs up the throttle body(Taco15 can attest), and is just all around gay. It's a GREAT way to mass-produce cars to pass emissions in every country, but blows performance out of the water(or motor in this case ;))

I'm sure theres many other reasons to set one up, but that right there is enough for me. I'd rather not suck my motors 'spent' oil/gases back into the intake to get burned again, but thats just me.

I just sent KMS the rest of the payment. He will give me a tracking # Monday or Tuesday.

Can't believe it's actually done!

damn that sure is alot of bullshit to get the motor rebuilt. those fuckers shoulda had it done within a month max! but goodluck come monday andrew

thanks man. it's pretty much fully built, so it'll be a blast!
