i know.... i just wanted for the people who are just looking at the last pg to realize its been done lots of times....

not trying to be a dick btw, just explaining my seemingly idiotic question.

:p

Hey, I've got 16,200 on my build thread on Honda-Tech.. And I havn't had it going 1/5 of the time you have.

Gimme another month or so.. I"ll catch you and SURPASS you ;)

Well, I took off my IM the other day, cleaned/polished my throttle body so it doesnt stick anymore, and redid some wiring on the back, redid my injector wiring, routed my clutch cable under the IM, fixed some coolant lines and installed my catch can. (all that from just wanting to clean the throttle body... heh)

While the manifold was off, I was prepping the Y8 mani to put it on. After I was about to take off my fuel rail and swap it over, I suddenly saw a problem I didn't know about. The z6 fuel rail has 3 mounting holes, the y8 has 2. they didn't line up. Soo, since it was too late to go out to Pick'nPull, I just put it back on.

So basically all I did was fix some wiring, cleaned my throttle body, and installed the catch can. Nothing else will be done for the dyno :( maybe besides indexing my sparkplugs
Unless you guys have any ideas...

hey man... where did you run the clutch cable to tuck it like that?

not chet.
One came through here a couple weeks ago, but I couldn't go. Soon enough, I should be able to go to one.

I'm looking around for some suspension upgrades - strut bars, sway bars, camber kit for the front(even though the camber on it now is perfect for auto-x'ing.
My only "con's" to the car is in the suspension.
It squat's a little (2" drop in back, 1-3/4" in front)- not very noticeable, but kinda errks me.
I need bump-stops in the back- I bottom out all the time
Need a camber kit- showing a little bit of wear up front; maybe 80% on the outside of the tire, while the inside is probably 70ish%.
Thats pretty much it.

I've been looking around at some different coil-overs, and I'm thinking of just getting some Ground Control's to go with my GR-2's(I know there like an OEM replacement, but it's what I've got to work with). Terrance(mac_24_seven) is happy with his, and I, too, enjoy the ride quality, so I think thats what I'll be doing in the next few weeks/months.- suspension!

As far as the engine's concerned, as with anything- I crave more power. However, after much thought, I'm pretty much leaning to leaving this how it is, with a few minor upgrades(IM/EM/another tune possibly), and saving my money for future cars/projects.
I have a few options now... I can wait about a year 'till I finish school and get a good job with my A&P certification and pick up a new(er) STi, or I could go ahead and stay in the honda game, just going at it a little differently this time- H22a CRX Si. Explicit Speed Performance really opened my eyes a while back(before this D), but I didn't think I had the know-how to do it. Now, however, it's a different story. I know whats going on, I've done a # of swaps(D and B series), I've done the obd0-1 conversion, I know which wires to run right off the bat, so no more fidleing around with wierd connecters I've never seen before. etc etc.
I really think that would be a fun project.

Plus, I've got my shop built(dried it in today! woot), I'll be getting settled in and getting started with my desire to learn to weld with (for now) a flux-cored/self-shielded MIG, and then eventually buy some shielding gas and do some good ole Aluminum/steel welding and really try and make some good looking stuff. (Mainly interested in making my own traction bars/strut bars/etc).

Blah Blah Blah. Felt like typing tonight!
Enjoy my pointless rambleings, as these are my current goals/quests.

lol seriously is it really all glued ?

Sorry about that dumb remark lol I was kidden though..I was being sarcastic...
I know everything isnt glued together ! lol But I did start my engine swap today ..just trying to rent a cherry picker to take the motor out !

chill out man..didnt mean to post it in here just asked a simple question..dont gotta get tough over the internet:whatafucktard:

Yo andrew, I know you've probably answered this question somewhere, but since this thread is so long, it's hard to read it all and find out. What is the advantage of the Y8 bottom end on the Z6 head? I've got a friend who's Z6 just locked up, and he's gonna sell me the whole car for 300 bucks. Will that bottom end be just as good as a Y8? if not, can i just get higher compression pistons to do the equivalent? I'm getting kinda bored with my D15B7, and when it goes i'm gonna give myself a little more umph. i'm a poor college student, and my 92 4 door is in such good shape that i have no reason to sell the car when i can rebuild a motor for it! plus, i love the racing seats! haha.

Also, I don't know if you know this, but do you think my 5sp off my D15B7 will match up to the Z6? thanks for any help! and yeah, anton3 is a thread fucker upper.

I wanted to rip into him, but he quoted me as the greatest ever. I'm so torn right now.

sorry, i thought it was a fair question given the topic, and being that i was in a class at the time, i didn't feel like reading through to figure it out on my own. there are after all 27 pages of posts....

yeah, klyph, your comment was the entertainment of my ME Design class this evening, so thank you! I'll go make sure my discombobulator is glued solid when i go home to pick up my civic this weekend.

1. What is the advantage of the Y8 bottom end on the Z6 head?

2. I've got a friend who's Z6 just locked up, and he's gonna sell me the whole car for 300 bucks.

3. Will that bottom end be just as good as a Y8? if not, can i just get higher compression pistons to do the equivalent?

4. Also, I don't know if you know this, but do you think my 5sp off my D15B7 will match up to the Z6? thanks for any help! and yeah, anton3 is a thread fucker upper.

1. I'm using an A6 block/ Z6 head, but they are all almost the same.
2. Get it. Thats a good deal. part out what you don't want, take w/e you do want. You could make money on that car, even though the motors done.
3. Like I said in #1, there all the same.
4. You mean your B7's trans? Yes. D-series will bolt up to D-series. However, the B7's gearing blows. Get yourself an EX or SI trans(d16z6), and you'll enjoy your car a LOT more.

My thoughts-
Do a mini-me. Slap that guy's Z6 head on your B7 and call it a day. keep it simple.

Search, guys... This stuff is asked about ALL the time.
