Too expensive dude.... WAYY overkill, too! but a nice find none-the-less...

idk what I'm gonna do... Jose has some LS brakes for me, so maybe I'll do that.

One custom ITR skid plate!

You like, yes?

For those who don't know the details.. I did it out of 1/8 as a prototype to make sure the holes lined up and whatnot, which they did. From Autocad to the finished product... 50 minutes.

I can make one now in about 25 minutes, maybe less. I dunno if I'm gonna be able to do 1/4" though (the material this is made out of) 3/16 is gonna be hard. Heck, making the bend on 1/8" wasn't easy at all.

Oh and as far as weight...
1/8 = 1 lb
3/16 = 2.2 lb
1/4 = 3.0 lb

You would think 1/4 would weigh 2 times what 1/8 does.. But it doesn't. Interesting.

Regardless... Anybody want a skid plate for their ITR header? ;)

I'll make one out of (or try to anyway) 3/16 this afternoon or tomorrow if I don't have the time.

how original..

didnt the header Andrew got come with one .. :D biter!

You know it baby!!

He'll update on why I have that header.. but I figured I'd borrow it for the week so I could duplicate the skid plate :)

I haven't had time to upload those pics yet... but basically it's impossible for me to have that ITR header... It's seriously like 2.5" ground clearance. I can't drive it down my driveway.

I put the B16 header back on. It's nice and tucked up there in the oil pan. plenty of clearance now...

Interesting facts about the difference between different headers:
B16- 30lbs
GSR- 20lbs
ITR w/skidplate- 20lbs.

Plus the ITR header w/ skidplate was about 3" taller than the B16. Thats why my ground clearance sucked so bad...

thats because the b18 block is a little taller ..

I finished bending the 3/16" one.. And it was as hard as I figured it would be.

BUT... I did figure out a different technique to bending it that won't be as hard... We'll see how it works out on the 1/4" tomorrow.

In the meantime.. Here's the 3/16" one in line with the original and the 1/8".

Took me about 7 minutes to bend the 3/16 one.

It's cool man... he's my brother... I've been looking forward to seeing this fab work.

I'll be buying new axles today from a place here in town called "Eastern Imports".
$75/ea.
And of course Honda only has the Drivers side Axle seal... not the Passenger side, which is the one thats leaking..... great.
Then I've got to change my oil pan gasket.
Then I've got to...............etc etc.etc...

This week's gonna be pretty active. I'm gonna try and go to the track Friday.

It's related and something he wanted me to do. And he can't exactly meditate and see what I've done can he? So I posted it in here for him (and you) to see.

JFWY .. hahah.. i know you two are family

i dont know if you know andrew but the felpro blue oil pan gaskets suck dont buy them. i would only get the oem ones $30.

btw

i might be selling my b16 cable tranny with axles and half shaft & the thick 3 puck sprung clutch/plate from exedy. i'm buying a gsr tranny w/lsd in the near future.

lmk if you want it...

it grinds 3rd some times

the plates look good.

Thanks for the info Formby. I'll be sure to stay with OEM.

As far as the transmission, this B16 trans I got seems to be fine. I'll know more when I get to beat on it some more, but when I'd throw down on it in the EX civic it was in it didn't seem to have any problems. I'll probably upgrade the clutch later on, but the one thats in it(oem replacement) only has like 1,000 miles on it.

I'm going to try and get my axles today.
I might be pulling a late-nighter getting 'em in, but then again I really need to change the passenger side axle seal, and OF COURSE Honda only carries the drivers side axle seal for the civic SI. boo.
Does anyone know if they are interchangeable with any other transmissions? *checking majestic now*
EDIT:

99 SI:
18787 018 1 OIL SEAL (40X62X8)

96 GSR:
91205-PC9-711 OIL SEAL (40X62X8) (NOK)

96 LS:
91205-PC9-711 OIL SEAL (40X62X8) (NOK)

I checked for D series and it's " OIL SEAL (35X62X8)"
So I guess B series is B series, and D is D.

i believe all cable cases are the same

teg/civic DOHC

Yeah, I checked for ya last night Andrew and came up with diff part #'s as well.. Must have slipped my mind while I was screwing up my car :p

Uhh.... D'oh!
93 LS (cable)

91205-PC9-711 OIL SEAL (40X62X8) (NOK)
The cable trans has the same PN/size.
If Acura has the drivers side, thats fine, b/c the Drivers/Pass. are the same!?

Looks like I'll pick up some seals today.
haha.. guess I should've thought about it...
EDIT: I went to honda and he called for 2 differnt seals for the drivers/pass side. the drivers side is like 36x56xblahblahblah it's a little smaller.

Heres whats been going on guys... the shaking is still happening. I realized that I hadn't removed the dust seals on the hubs during the install, so thats what I did last night:

Took a break and caught a cute little snake in the house for my mom(then walked out to the shop and snapped a pic):

This is why I need to change my axle seal(passenger side)

And my oil pan gasket:

Temporarily wired up my exhaust to get me around until I can get to the exhaust shop.

Got the new axles ($75 a piece BNIB!) and an axle seal(unfortunatly it is the wrong part. I just wiped the seal down really good and hoped it would be ok... we'll see.)

They all "look" the same...

But for some reason the passenger side is acting up on me. (drivers side is in and seems fine.)

It fits in (with enough "oomph"), but when I slip in the LBJoint and turn the whole assembly, it locks up when I try to turn it 'straight' ahead. Like it's too long.

I'm going to ask Emily(the chick I bought the car from) what mid-shaft they used. It's possible they didn't use an LS mid-shaft.(I bought LS axles)

So It's sitting there like you see it in the last pic. Waiting on me to fix it :(
I really want to go to the track tomorrow... but I don't think it's going to happen... :(:(
