Awesome man.. very pleased.
I'm surprised you could tar yourself away from the girls long enough to get to the pick n pull. At least you have SOME priorities straight :p
:p

Where'd you guys go yesterday? I thought you were gonna get Meggies keys from the house after your tuning?

nice nice. Internal BOV? never heard of that

I heard though that using water cooled turbos aren't good for hmt kits unless your actually gonna water cool it?
I hadn't ever heard of it either... but it's looped to the down pipe.
Gonna be so quiet!

As far as oil and water... I don't know how hard it will be to install water lines... If it's not that hard and doesnt cost all that much I don't mind doing it. I've got to do some research...
Heres some pics of it:

You can see the dump tube for the BOV going into the downpipe.

wow, thats actually really cool. Are you planning on using a front or side mount? Sidemount + internal bov = super sleepy boosted b16

It's a possibility. If I can find one that will fit good, yeah, I'll do it.
Theres one on a Saab out there that looks like it might work. I'll go out there and get it before my friend does :p

haha nice. Also, the ones off probes aren't bad, but then again I'm not entirely familiar with the specs of your bay so i donno how well it'd fit

I'm just trying to figure out what I'm going to do for my downpipe/exhaust situation.
The way it's setup now is I'd have to make a custom log to point the turbo straight/forward and use the stock cast exhuast elbow, or I can just get a weld-on 5 bolt flange and do a custom 3"er. That will obviously make more power... so I bet thats what I'll do. Maybe not right away, but we'll see how things turn out as I start to tear it apart and rebuild it.

Got some of the best welders in the county at the shop mang.. I can get anything you need welded up.

Also, you need to get that tranny down here from the Camino and also.. get down here so we can swap the engine out of spongebob into the 240!!!

What about this weekend, Terrance?
I've been itchin to work on the 240 man. seriously!
I'll ask Joe off for Saturday. If I can, I'll come down Friday after work and we can do the swaps Saturday.

I'll need to weld a 3" downpipe, but I might ask Tracy to help me out with that, that way we don't have to worry about them slackin on the job and whutnot. I can cut it and mark it how I want it, and just take the piping down to him and let him weld it.

You tell me....

If you want to do it this saturday, and your sure you can get off work, I"ll tell dad and we can get things goin ;)

I disassembled the turbo a little bit in class today:
(sorry, didn't bring my camera, so heres some crappy camera-phone pics)

Diagnoses:
It was siezed, but I broke it loose no problem. I'm positive the bearings are shot. it will not spin by hand, but it's not that hard with a socket.
One of the 5 bolts on the DP broke at the head, so now I've got to extract 1 bolt.
The 6 bolts holding the turbine side are siezed(surprise surprise), so I stopped trying- I didn't want to break any more than I had to. I'm going to heat them up with a pencil torch and plenty of PB Blaster and see if I can get them loose later on.

I know good news that you guys don't.............. (Talking to Andrew now).
;)

ABS RINGS

ABS rings were what was causing the vibration. I ripped them suckas off with a grinder and took it to 8k numerous times...

I'm SO happy....

Now I've got to change my passenger side axle seal.

And bro... "do I have the turbo on and running?!" ?!?!?
Did you notice that I tore the turbo apart today?? :)

well he said he had good news lol...nothing else how was i supposed to know? you could of got one given to you or something lol...ive been at work for 8 hours already and i have 6 left leave me alone im tired haha

I just got back in town last night & catching up on the thread.
Where did you source that turbo? I remember a few pages back that it was some junkyard gold, but do you know what vehicle?

Since we've moved on to forced induction, did you get the shaking worked out? If so, I guess I missed it. I seem to remember you saying that a lot of the suspension components were shot, but was it this vehicle or a previous? Seriously, if tie-rods & everything else is shot, how can you stand to drive the thing? Maybe I'm just anal....

The whole camber issue w/ my baby got me through the road trip fine, but didn't totally resolve the shaking when accelerating & turning. So, not sure if the camber needs more fine tuning or if I should look elsewhere. Oh well.

Good luck w/ the turbo.

*scroll up a few posts*

I fixed the majority of it. It doesnt vibrate unless I turn hard RIGHT.
*shrug*
IDK what it could be, but I'm SUPER happy I fixed the "big" problem.

Oh, and it's off of a '87 Chrysler New Yorker.

andrew too bad you already re-mentioned that you just took the turbo apart yesterday, because I was about to rip someone a new asshole ha. All you have though is the turbo, like no mani or anything? I remember you saying something about you getting one off some guy but I didn't know if you did indeed get one
