Nitrous is so much cheaper and just as effective!

Yep!
but I'm still boosting. maybe nitrous too. why not?

Yeah, but how's it handle on a real track?

<laughs> Thats like sayin " yeah, it's fast on land, but how quick does it plane off???"

n00b :p

But to answer your question: It's pretty slow around the corners but very, very mean in the straights. Stopping is a problem though :p

*** Hey, go ahead and post the video of the Si spanking the Porsche :)

Well to start this update off... You'll notice a difference in picture quality(hopefully... if I'm doing everything right). I'm borrowing my sister's Rebel XTI to get used to an SLR. I'm in the market to buy the XSi.

So I can't get this 'turbo fever' out of my system so I went to work today, fooling with the intercooler. I'll keep it brief (as I took a LOT of pics).

I will have to buy a new radiator. I'm going to buy this one:
eBay Motors: CXRacing Radiator Civic DEL SOL 92-00 D Series 12" fan (item 320281082246 end time Aug-06-08 17:56:54 PDT)

Heres 'what I got'.

Oh yeah!

As you can see, its a tight fit. gotta make some cuts!

Unfinished cuts (no filing yet):

This is why I need a new radiator: We're talking 1/2".... GAH!

Heres how my cold side piping will be routed. (VERY simply and I had all the parts laying in my shop! hooray
This S bend will pick it up to the topside.

Another angle:

Then I'll cut this piece and use about 45* of it for connecting the upper section I already have.)

I thought it was kinda cool that these bolt holes will work pretty well: Keep in mind this is a SRT-4 intercooler.
IMG_9096.jpg

But I had to get creative with some excess bulging metal. (This took a lot of carefull thought and planning!)

The only thing bad about this setup is How far it comes forward from the mounts...
I was hoping to get a new fresh bumper (from Korax) and be able to install it w/o cutting the front grill. Doesn't look like it'll fit with the stock grill. Luckily mine is already butchered so I'll 'practice' with it. If/when I change intercoolers, I can do it differently.

It's getting there!!
My shopping list (in order of priority) is as follows:
-ARP headstuds
-Radiator
-Traction bar (to accommodate new radiator and DP)
Going with ETD.
-2 90* bends. 2.5"
-T-bolts for the piping.
I'll use worm clamps for now. no biggy. more bling factor than anything. I'll be bead rolling all of my piping at school in a couple weeks so worm clams should hold good.
-Turbo Timer

And I think thats about all I need!
I'm stoked. I'm starting to get sortof concerned about the tuning, but I'll make it happen.
Oh, and my turbo should be here soon! It got shipped out today.

Hey Andrew, whenever you are ready to buy your ARP stuff, let me know. I have shopped around and found a seller/dealer on H-T that sells them for a very good price. I just can't remember his name right now.

I'm pretty much ready whenever! It's pretty high priority right now.
Tuner toys is about $93 + shipping

Edit: BTW heres an update on my turbo status!

Sweet!
but unfortunately I won't be here. I'm leaving tomorrow night for Atlanta for the weekend. Gonna catch up with some old friends.
That being said, I'll be out of touch 'till next week. But I should be able to get some good progress with the majority of my stuff here!! yay!

Ok so it's $93+ shipping through TT and $99 shipped with that guy. I bet I'll do better with him, so I guess Lightning Motorsports it is

I'll order 'em next week. Thanks for the hookup man!

I just bought some studs from Lightning Motorsports. Literally yesterday. They don't ship "signature required" like SBR, so it should be there for ya.

T-Bolt clamps are a good idea. I'm using half and half on my install. (mainly because I'm much too cheap to buy all t-bolt clamps. Anyone know where to get them cheap?)

I'm planning on a turbo-timer. Today after I get done with meetings, I'll do some research and let you know. The best ones are ones that have a turbo-oil temp sensor, but those cost a bundle....

Ok, so.

Turbo timers effectively allow your insurance company to find you at fault should your car get stolen. Screw that.

I'm just going to take it easy for the last 2km or so, and finish listening to the current song playing on the stereo before I turn off the car.

Wow the stock SRT intercooler fits nearly perfect, and seems to be properly sized, where did you pick that up from?

Locally, off Tallahassee's Import forums. I paid $40 for it!

Re-he-heealy? Huuuh. I'll have to call my insurance company and double check with them. (maybe different companies have different policies eh?)

I know Jegs and Summit have them for about $4/ea. Most places are $10-12/pair. So it's a pretty good deal.

And boy-oh-boy do I have some exciting news for you people. But Your going to have to wait until I get back from Atlanta to see what it is! (That being the deal works out fine! ). I'll just hint that: you guys are going to hate me for finding this deal. :D
