KMS: Your motorz is done, but I don't have enough bolts to finish it.
Andrew: Don't you own an engine building shop?
KMS: Well ya, but you don't really need the bolt/plug thingy cuz it's just for VTAK.
Andrew: ORLY?

Agreed?

I've been reading a little bit on the BBB of Central GA, and I'm just contimplating filing a complaint.
Edit: I decided to go ahead and Email the BBB. we'll see what happens
I agree with you about KMS. I went through there website and visited them cuz I live in Atlanta and they are not that far. Seemed like good people until, a buddy of mine was waiting on his engine rebuild as long as you have waited. All was getting was darton sleeves and forged internals. Took forever, his car sat for months upon months just collecting dust.

I do hope you get your motor soon and post up some pics of the swap.

Huh.. thanks for postin up dude. Thats pretty much the same situation I'm in. *luckily* I've been storing my car in the shop, so it's not getting too dusty/dirty.

It has to be here soon. Today.

Oh, and don't worry, I'm a pic whore, so you can rest assured I'll pack the next couple pages with pics.

TOP 5 reasons why KMS Engine Development shall never be used again.

1. One dandy day around Sept. 6, 2006, I packed up my motor(d16z6), wrapped in clear packing wrap(and foam), then wrapped again with a packing blanket, with an engine hoist cable/pulley attached, in a homemade box, and shipped it to KMS Engine Development. Sweet! I'm sending it off to get a full "stage 2" type build.

After nearly 5 months of being taken for a fool, being lied to, and $3600 later, I get my motor back. Barely.

The box has holes in it.

2. The motor did not come with my packing blanket or cable pulleys, instead, they wrapped it in a trashbag and layed some straps over it(they are NOT CONNECTED TO THE MOTOR AT ALL. they are just sitting there.

3.
The block wasnt cleaned thuroughly, then followed up with a spray paint coat(lots of crap under the paint).

4. There is BLACK overspray from when they attempted to paint the water passage ALL over the back of the block and head.

5. To top it all off,

I HAVE NO CRANK PULLEY.

Law. Suit.
In five months, I'm sure I could have done a better job.
And I'm a newb. Without a shop.

That's just terrible work ethic right there, I'm gonna post some "Do-not-go-here" threads on all the forums I'm subscribed to.

BBB!!!!!!! id make a phone call to him explaining your disapprove followed up by an email with pictures. Although digital pictures dont hold up well in court or in cases like this, make sure to take pics with a disposable camera. Is there anyway you can get a timestamp on your pics so it shows you didnt have sufficient time to tamper with it after the delivery??

I'm calmed down now. Take it easy guys. I'm just sucking it up and going with it.
I talked(yelled) with him today and he straightened some matters out.
It turns out he shipped my crank pulley and some other acc. in a separate box, so I should be seeing that stuff in the next couple days.

I'm just SOOO relieved it's here. I could almost care less about ever talking to him again!

Heres the bolt or w/e I'm missing. I've put a couple things back on, and will probably drop it in in the next few days.

Heres the latest pics. I probably would have had it in if I had my sockets for the flywheel bolts(for Pilot bearing).

Enjoy. Don't worry, I'm gonna make the best of it.
I need to know what bolt goes in the head there, so any help would be appreciated!

Thanks so far guys
-Andrew

Huh, so VTEC won't engauge without that hole plugged?

They did a good job on the valvetrain, and I trust their work, it's just their customer service and people skills that makes me mad.

I trust the motor. I really don't think I'll have too many problems to kink out.
but I do need to get my hands on that bolt.

SLHondas list

Part 17 bolt with part 23 washer.

Majestic's list

Thanks B
