I've seen it done a few times before, and it seems like it's not TOO bad of a swap. I think more than anything it cramps your knees a little more than any of the other dashes.(except for the DC5 dash)

I'll have pics out the wazoo. Don't worry.

Depending on the trouble it gives you, I may have to do the same. I found a writeup on here I believe, before I came big into honda-swap on putting a 00' gauge cluster in the rex, but I like just swapping the entire dash.

Got some work done today.
Looks like my rex is running pretty good. Went and filled it up with some fresh gas and checked for leaks (story of my life... thanks.. EF's.) and I've got a strange coolant leak dripping down my engine stamp. I'm still trying to diagnose it, but it's no big deal.

I stripped out the dash harness of the DC dash. I labeled some of the plugs I want, but I think I'll be using my CRX harness and merging some of the wires for simple things like the dimmer, sun-roof, Hazard, and Defrost (which is pretty much the only things I'll need, since I'm ditching the Climate Controls.) Don't worry. I'm doing everything I can to keep the harness', and my car in general, ready to switch back to normal if I ever need/want to.

Oh, and I redid my engine bay in GOLD bolts! bling bling, homies

And I gathered some parts in my shop that I'm going to sell. I guess I'll start up a for sale thread, soon. I'll post up a link, soon.

I guess I'll see what comes next

i just read through all 62 pages and my god this is cool. it was like i was reading a story and half the time i was wondering "ok whens the b16 coming into play here?" haha. this is great. About the surging idle, take the throttle body off and open up the FITV, usually a surging idle is caused when it backs itself out a little bit, just screw it back in with your finger and you should be good to go. Also check that your IACV is still good. To check for a vac leak, take a can of brake cleaner and spray it on the area that you think is leaking, if you hear the engine rev up a little bit (rpms will go up like 200-400rpm) then you know theres a leak there because its sucking the brake cleaner in and combusting it.

I had an annoying vac leak on my IACV, turns out i tightened it too much. Also for whatever reason my throttlebody was leaking bad on the bottom of it. might have something to do wtih the ITR intake mani and b16 throttlebody but im not sure. (i have an ls/vtec swap in my 00 ex coupe). i jsut put some high temp silicon gasket maker and sealed the bottom of the throttlebody with that, vac leak fixed, no more surging idle :-).

Also about the exhaust, is the crush bend worth it? I am currently rolling around on the stock d16y8 piping (like <2" i think?), i rolled around open header with a cat and like 2 feet of pipe bolted on and it pulled like a bitch then compared to when the exhaust was hooked up. Also with it open header my friend driving next to me said when it crossed over into vtec he felt it in his chest lol (ITR cams woot). my setup if your curious is a b18b1 stock block, b16 head with all ITR components (cams and full valvetrain), gsr trans with a quaife lsd. Untuned on a basemap with a hondata s200 chipped p28.

The thing pulls like mad and i love it, plus all stock exterior = sleeper.

Keep us updated on what happens and check what i told you about the surging idle, i know that feeling like "its working but its still broken", bugs the crap out of me with my car.

What are you going to do about the door panels when you swap the dash? They wont exactly match up.

I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. ;P I don't really know. I might just do some sheetmetal ones or something. weight reduction = ftw. ugly but great for track use = ftw

Found a few pictures that kinda get me excited about doing it. I don't know. lmk what you think

I especially like this part (would be cool to finally have an armrest!)

I don't know if I want to do that to my crx yet. we'll see. I might just hang on to it. Or sell it. IDK.

Ah, well it's worth getting to get my CRX on the road again
How built?

As for the dash, I saw those pics when someone posted the HT link, I like how it looks. Call it a hybrid, call it rice, whatever, but I really like how it looks.

And the bottom pic? Definitely +1 in rep for finding that and making me laugh. I feel like shit today.
EDIT: Must spread some rep before giving it to andrew again, who wants rep? I promised him rep and he gets it.

128 / 112 to be exact.
On a basic street tune. Theres a few more HP left in it, in tuning. Plus that was with the old header. With this DC sports 4-1 I bet it'll change it a little bit, too.

Thing pulled hard. I'm thinking of picking up another car to put it in. Even my crx (for za bewst).

I don't really want to sell it. It's MUCH more worth it for me to use than to sell, cause I've got way too much money invested in the stupid thing.

I have seen people use plexiglass for door panels. They just painted the back of it so when you scratch the face it is still colored. Just a suggestion that might not look half bad.

Thats a good idea. And it'd be pretty cheap too.
Looks like it'd work great on a track car (who knows if thats where my rex is heading)

Man, I don't think it looks that good. It looks too big.

After seeing that pic, I'd stay with your factory dash. You've got a real nice N clean interior. Plz don't put aluminum door panels in!!!!! They can't weigh 5 lbs a piece :S

If anything, just hook up the LS cluster. Jose did it in that CRX he has and. while not a perfect fit
, it looked good!
