I've never been up to PA. I've been all around it (all of the east coast from FL to ME), and pretty much every other state in the U.S. but there!

Good boarding mountains? I've boarded/skied(sp?) in CO(lots. copper mt., breck, keystone, etc), Salt Lake City UT, Banff CA, NC(can't remember where exactly. It's above ashville somewhere), Bend OR, MASS, and a couple more I can't think of.

Pittsburgh weather is awesome, if you get the chance to go boarding, unfortunately I haven't had the chance the past 2 winters, so that means pitt weather is poop

Hey Andrew, check out this link about dry nawzz systems

It posted a few pro's I didn't realize and actually some cons about WET systems that I didn't know either.

A good read, just so you know.

There is a couple of decent resorts within one hour-2hours of where I live (seven springs, Wisp, etc) but they are nothing like out west. Just not big enough. The best east coast riding is up in Vermont (going to Mt. Snow march 2nd - 8th). And we could if the time is right, I'm getting a garage up in Carnegie after i get back. Need to de-rice this civic I have and get it prepped for possible Honda challenge. But, I would be up for hanging out.

Update 3/1/08

Picked up a JDM Passenger (U.S. Driver) seat from a guy off H-T in Miami. The only reason it's not in my car right now is that I need to switch the entire seat pans. I tried to just switch the rails, but the bolt pattern is different, plus theres no provision(bolt hole) for the Seat Belt Buckle thing to go.
MINT condition though!

And I just picked up a ZC style Carbon Fiber hood today. It's in pretty rough condition, but it was cheap so I did it anyway. I haven't decided if I want to Re-Clear coat it, or paint it white. Like I said, it's not in the best condition. The bolts are a little rusty and 1 is sheared off (just rusted on and got torqued too much when they took it off type of thing). Plus it's kinda warped (see pics).
Right now, I'm leaning towards NOT using it. but if theres any way I can screw around with it a little bit and get it looking pretty decent, I'll see what I can do.

Notice the gap... This side is the worst...

Front is straight

Eww...

Eww...

IDK. It's pretty ghetto. I don't want to put it on my car as it is, OF COURSE. But I just want to find out if it's repairable. (the warpage is the main thing I'm concerned about)

What do you guys think?
-Andrew

If you park the car in a hot place and put a cinder block or something heavy like that on the sides then it should go back a little. My friend did that with a cheap nopi hood and it worked. It was bowed up on the sides just like that. Also a good compound a buffing might bring back the shine without any paint work.

Wow. That hood looks like my car does after the body shop screwed me and my insurance company.

Any shop that deals with CF should be able to fix it for you. OR you can do it yourself with steam and some wood.

PS, paint it. Add to the sleeper look.

Thats an interesting idea. I live on FL, so I shouldn't have a problem finding a hot place. I could always steam it, too. We have a steamer. Hmm.... I've got some research to do.

awptickles, thats what I was thinking, just keep it clean with some white paint

Hmmnnn... Where'd you get the ZC hood from? If you're not gonna do anything with it.. Eli might be interested?

I dunno.

I say keep the stock hood man.. If you painted it white, you'd have mis-matched colors. And you know I know ALLLLL about that.

Changing out the pans on the seats sucks BTW. You're gonna have lots of fun!

Artemio (Arty G) had one laying around up there at BBR so I checked it out

I think I can fix it here at school. If nothing else, I can at least re-clear it here. We've got an entire paint room

Let me work my magic a little bit and see how decent I can make it look

That would be the first thing I try. I bet it would work too. Afterwards maybe a little clear coat. Though, if it worked and cleaned it up good, then I'd work on the warpage.

I would think one of those propane heaters your dad has would work great as far as heating the hood up, as long as it's far enough away of course. Hell, put the hood on and drive around: maybe the heat in the engine bay would be enough?

When I said a hot place I didnt mean that you had to actually heat up the hood. My friend just parked it outside in the sun with like 90 degree weather, placed a concrete cinder block wrapped in a towel on it, and that seemed to work fine. Also as mac stated, a hot engine bay would probably help too.

A hot engine bay is probably what warped it in the first place. After you get it fixed, think about putting some dampening (thermal) under it, it might help a bit.
