Freaking after market gauges FTW. I wonder how many times an oil pressure or temp gauge has saved an engine?
This has made me what to pick up a LS block just to have as a spare :S |

Like any Forum you need to host them on a standalone site. I use Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket
Thats a pretty impressive motor setup. You should make good power with the right turbo and tuning! You should make a project thread for yourself and show everyone what your doing! |

Sorry for the delay fellas. Been a little too busy today with working on the car and going to church then dinner and whatnot. I've just been doing some more work tearing down the e-bay more. I'll probably jack it up and get to the underside in a few days.
I "finished" the drivers side wire tuck. Pulled the fender off again and re-routed the wires so theres really no wires in the bay and the resister box is under the dash like a normal tuck would be. Been kinda taking my time and thinking it through, making sure it's how I want it so I won't get that "it works but its not perfect" feeling (as with everything I've been doing to the car lately...) And I've been cleaning up the D16, degreasing it and cleaning up the trans again. Also finishing the 'new' harness for it. (again taking my time and doing the "tuck" right...) I'll try and upload those pictures tomorrow if I get a chance and ain't too tired after bouldering. -Andrew |

You know Andrew, I can't remember what tranny you're running on your D16. So, with that said...hey Andrew, what tranny are you running on your D16?

Aight so Monday morning, I have no oil pressure. Idea! Lets pull the motor.
Get my lights setup (working on delivering 220/110 to my shop...) ![]() About an hour and a few beers later you end up with something like this: ![]() The fender is off so I can re-route my wiretuck... Informative Wire-Tucking Side-note: If I would have routed them like this from the beginning, there is no need to extend any wires! My stuff is too long now. The Passenger side, however, might need to be extended a little bit, but I think you can get away w/o cutting anything. Just De-pin all of the connectors and slip them through the body and reconnect them. ![]() Needs cleaning/paint... ![]() Stripped and repainted the trans, this time I just did two or three very light (hopefully BONDING) coats of "filler primer". I'll just leave it like that. ![]() Working on the wiring... And degreasing like mad. I'll hit it with some paint to match the trans. ![]() Ugly pic, but all the wiring is off the B. just tucked to the side. I've gotta pull that harness out and make room for the "new" one. I'm going to re-vamp this harness while the B is out. More than likely with some nice sleeving like ChaseBays/Rywire and them use. ![]() Anyway. Theres the most recent pics! Got a lot of work ahead of me... -Andrew |

Nice work as always, Andrew. I have faith that you'll get everything done in a few days and all will be well.

Made some progress yesterday...
Got the Harness off and hung up ![]() And the IM off: ![]() And took the shift linkage and exhaust off, and some more good stuff too. It's ready to go. The only thing holding it in is the axles and engine mounts ![]() Goal is to get the engine out tomorrow afternoon (Sunday) and start on Engine Bay prep. (cleaning sanding painting, etc) -Andrew __________________

That's good to hear. I just spent more than half of the day at my mechanics house. It was supposed to be a quick installation of my chipped P28, but the damn thing wouldn't rev beyond 4,000 at all. Fortunately I had read about this problem so I didn't freak out. I can't remember where though, so I'll have to find it today. Perhaps the ECU was that of an automatic instead of stick. Either way, good luck today.
