Got some more work done lately...

-Ordered some gaskets from Majestic. Dizzy oring, throttlebody gasket, valve cover gaskets, etc.
-Installed fender liners and Right fender
-1/2 way installed the radiator (no fluid or upper hose).
I think I'm going to get my hands on a EG radiator.
- was going to install the Axles but finally figured out that Terrance has them so thats put on hold till this weekend...
-Working on re-doing my gauge bezel with some sheetmetal and carbon fiber. Should look a lot better when I'm done.

Right off the bat.... Does anyone know what this little plug is for? (DEAD CENTER of the pic.). Oil? Coolant? I had a thought cross my mind of putting a gauge there.

Radiator- Wanna pick up a 1/2 sized EG rad sooner or later. I think that would look pretty good...

Working on my hoses and cables...
Brake Booster vacuum line- cannot bend the barb in the head, so it's stuck facing up. I think I'll have my Y8 manifold back this weekend so I might install that this weekend and it's barb might not be stuck.
Fuel return line- I'm thinking of a better way to do this. I have a few ideas in my head. So we'll see. It involves a little cutting and flaring of both the pressure and return lines behind the firewall, using bulkhead fittings, and running all SSBraided in the bay. Prolly look hawt.

Fender. I've gotta get my sunroof drain taken care of on the Left side before I can install that fender. Thats the only reason its not on right now!

Few pics for fun...

I like this one... took it last week...

Thats about it.
I've gotta get a few more things out of the way and I'll be ready to start turning key!

I'm fairly sure that's for the oil passageway. Those plugs are removed when the block is hot-tanked, they run brushes through there to make sure all the crud is removed.

You should be able to pull out that whole 90° fitting by twisting on it. Granted, you'll probably have to reef on it pretty hard, and you'll more than likely end up destroying the fitting in the process, but you could put a new one in.

Well, See I've tried to just twist it, like I do on ALL my other manifolds (and cars I wiretuck), with some pliers, but it just don't work. It starts to twist the fitting itself and bend the metal, so I don't feel like ripping a hole in it and having a vacuum leak to deal with... so it'll stay for now.

Are those just compression-fit fittings btw? how do you get them out/in? heat the mani/chill the fitting kinda like valve guides?

Thats all I need mang.
I've got my bulkhead fittings and such already. And I'm probably set on all the other fittings I need, since I've been collecting them left and right.
We'll see. I'll probably go ahead and at least run my main line.
I'm just going to focus on getting it running, then I'll worry about making it go fast.

Speaking of which!

60'? had to be 2.2 or less.

With my current setup I ran 15.6 @91.6 with a 2.53 60'. Thats also shifting into 4th at the end of the 1/4.

Oh, and major props. I'm envious, yes but I"m not a jerk (all the time anyway :P) Good for him! He's been impotent when it comes to cars for a while. Bout time he step up and get something worth modifying :P

HEY, whats he doin with his B18 block?

Thumbs down

He has it sitting in my shop. rotting. I don't know about that motor. He didn't plasti-gauge like I told him to. No assembly lube was used on the bearings; and leaving it uncovered in my shop with dirt-dobers filling every single little hole in it with larvae and dirt..... tisk tisk.

If theres ANYTHING that annoys me, it's when people use my stuff and do not put it away. jackstands, jacks, tools (MY tools), parts, trash, etc. GAWD it pisses me off.
If I'm going to be nice enough to let anyone use my shop to store crap and to wrench on their car, they'd better damn well clean it up better when finished than it was before they got there. ya know?
It just errks me. I could roll his engine out into the yard and turn the shortblock into a birdfeeder if I wanted to. but no.

/rant.
I'm better now.

He actually has an B16 head that's been hot tanked and I think had a valve job or something done to it.
(he claims is ITR because of some "blue paint" near the distributor that they marked during manufacturing and some port work on the intake side).
-Custom grind cams (aggressive! I'll try and get specs)
-Intake manifold. ITR I think
And a few other things.

It's all just about assembly. Thats also the scary part, because Devin cuts corners when he's pressured to get something done soon. Cutting corners in engine assembly = engine no good.

Yeah, they're just pressed in. I was gonna suggest heating up the area of the mani surrounding it with a torch, but that would definitely fuck up your paint. I'm pretty sure you could get it out by smashing/mangling it into submission, but there's always the risk that it will break off and leave a piece behind.

If thats the case I can just drill and thread in a hose barb like I have on my B16. Just a 90" brass barb. I guess somewhere around 1/8-1/4npt or somethin. I got my Y8 manifold Friday, but haven't messed with it yet.

Update!
Got my Majestic order in.
Its supposed to be "Marquis"...... but who cares I got my crap! yay

Distributor Orings, Throttle body gaskets, distributor gasket, valve cover gasket kit....

Got the axles in

(I've GOT to get my brake setup taken care of! I've got DA knuckles and calipers AND a 4040 proportioning valve sitting in my shop (remember way back when I sand blasted the parts?)

And now I'm happy it's on the ground!

Heres some shots outside for the FIRST TIME!! w00t!
Looks amazing in the direct light! I'm proud of it!
Can't wait to get some more color in there (valve cover, intake, etc) I'm thinking Yellow for the valve cover

Enjoy!
