Bought a 1989 240sx yesterday!
142,xxx miles
5-spd w/ short shifter
old aftermarket exhaust (the dude said greddy or something)
Filter (like shortram)
some old aftermarket ignition system(not hooked up though-doubt it works)

Room for turbo-

I'm just going to "flip" it. I got a great deal on it, so I'm gonna use the profits to go towards my DownPayment on the new SI.

Andrew: My car has the bugs in it, and I drive it daily. So don't feel too bad. Aside from adding weight, I don't think it does much.

Nice deal on the nissan. I'd rape it a few times, then sell it.

Got that right man!
We had a '90 and then a '98. The 90 was MUCH cooler than the newer one! I can't wait to drive this thing around. But I've got some TLC ahead of me!

Well this one IS rotted to hell Naa... but it does have some good bits of rust. I'll be getting my hand practiced at some bodywork!! (we're going to keep it very simple and utilitarian. Nothing really NICE. just functional!)

It was a friend of mine's and he was going to give it to me, but me and dad chipped in $250 each giving Jake $500 for it.

Actually, it just needed gas. =P

Have a few things to do to it, but I've started tearing it apart. (theres a TON of rust)
I'm going to be ordering some sheet metal to change out the floor pans and do body work and stuff from Terrance this week.

Hey andrew, not to completely change subject, but I was talking to my moms boyfriends brother on the 4th, and he mentioned on of his buddy having a cbr hurricane, and he raced it, but he had the gearing reversed so that it was 1 up and 5 down, so he could shift faster. Ever heard of anything like that?

oh yeah. my bad. dunno why I didn't catch it the first time? read it wrong I guess.

Well guys I've just been pretty busy lately, but Thursday I managed to adjust my valves so maybe it won't sound like a diesel. heh. They were pretty far out of spec... last time I adjusted them it was
IN .007 EX .011
Which is what KMS recommended, but it sounded like a straight diesel.

I checked them as I went along and consistantly they were at about (give or take)
IN .009/10 EX .013/4
WOW. No wonder, right??

This time I adjusted them to
IN .006 EX .009(shy. so in the middle of that and .010)

Sold the CBR1000 Thursday night, Sold one of our work mini-vans. And have been posting other stuff up on Craigslist and stuff like crazy. I love that site now. I get calls instantly. I'm about to post up the 240sx and get it sold. Thats my real money maker.
All of this money is getting piled up and used as a down payment on a new civic!

And I wasn't doing anything yesterday either, I was trout fishing and scalloping all day.
So MAYBE this weekend I'll post up some stuff about one of my cars in the "lot."

Dude, is your engine any quieter now?

I need to adjust the valves on mine.. Did you buy the special lil tool or what? Oh and check my FS thread... look at the prices and see if I"m asking too much or too little.

It sounds better, but It was hard to tell, because for some reason, my #1 plug wire decided to stop functioning. I'm going to buy some replacements. It's been needing new wires for a while now...
