Yeah the only reason I thought of recirculating is just for the noise.
I hope for the best on your setup too, bro.

We'll see who's faster.

I don't race straight lines. You ship the rex out to Nürburg ring, and we'll see. Fastest time gets the slower car's title?

EDIT: Actually, that's not fair. Let me reiterate how scary the ring is, and how I'd never want to 'race for profit' on it. Fucking scary track..... So, offer recended. I'll figure out a way we can compare carpenises.

Most of the porsche drivers are so scared they're going to wreck, they barely even push the limits. I know a guy who can't get faster than an 11min time because of that. Shit, I run about 11:50 or so.

If you can fly here by October, I'll let you run the ring in my car. How's that for a deal?

I would love to take my carover there and run on it, I would be so excited to run just one lap. It would be the best 11minutes of my life.

Matt, thanks for the testimony man. I've always heard that you can use Ebay Wastegates no problem, but I was unsure about BOV's. Since I'm kinda doing a budget thing, I might just get my hands on a DSM and recirculate it = quiet and cheap. Or if i can find a good deal on a synchronic...

haha...believe me, I know you were. I figured a little incentive to post it faster wouldn't hurt things though.

If you've never run it, it'll be more like the best 15 minutes. You want to take it slow your first time.

The only Ring experience I have is thanks to Gran Turismo. And as much as I know the track layout from that... It would very be scary. Plus isn't there like 4023740832470 other cars and bikes on the track all the time? Sorry to thread jack Andrew, get that turbo on!

Well to start this update off... You'll notice a difference in picture quality(hopefully... if I'm doing everything right). I'm borrowing my sister's Rebel XTI to get used to an SLR. I'm in the market to buy the XSi.

So I can't get this 'turbo fever' out of my system so I went to work today, fooling with the intercooler. I'll keep it brief (as I took a LOT of pics).

I will have to buy a new radiator. I'm going to buy this one:
eBay Motors: CXRacing Radiator Civic DEL SOL 92-00 D Series 12" fan (item 320281082246 end time Aug-06-08 17:56:54 PDT)

Heres 'what I got'.

Oh yeah!

As you can see, its a tight fit. gotta make some cuts!

Unfinished cuts (no filing yet):

This is why I need a new radiator: We're talking 1/2".... GAH!

Heres how my cold side piping will be routed. (VERY simply and I had all the parts laying in my shop! hooray
This S bend will pick it up to the topside.

Another angle:

Then I'll cut this piece and use about 45* of it for connecting the upper section I already have.)

I thought it was kinda cool that these bolt holes will work pretty well: Keep in mind this is a SRT-4 intercooler.

But I had to get creative with some excess bulging metal. (This took a lot of carefull thought and planning!)

The only thing bad about this setup is How far it comes forward from the mounts...
I was hoping to get a new fresh bumper (from Korax) and be able to install it w/o cutting the front grill. Doesn't look like it'll fit with the stock grill. Luckily mine is already butchered so I'll 'practice' with it. If/when I change intercoolers, I can do it differently.

It's getting there!!
My shopping list (in order of priority) is as follows:
-ARP headstuds
-Radiator
-Traction bar (to accommodate new radiator and DP)
Going with ETD.
-2 90* bends. 2.5"
-T-bolts for the piping.
I'll use worm clamps for now. no biggy. more bling factor than anything. I'll be bead rolling all of my piping at school in a couple weeks so worm clams should hold good.
-Turbo Timer

And I think thats about all I need!
I'm stoked. I'm starting to get sortof concerned about the tuning, but I'll make it happen.
Oh, and my turbo should be here soon! It got shipped out today.

Hey Andrew, whenever you are ready to buy your ARP stuff, let me know. I have shopped around and found a seller/dealer on H-T that sells them for a very good price. I just can't remember his name right now.

That being said, I'll be out of touch 'till next week. But I should be able to get some good progress with the majority of my stuff here!! yay!
