Default Brad's DC2 GSR Tragedy

Here is car number four, I've been driving for two years.

Its a 1995 Integra GSR. I got it off the original owner, its always been a local car. 309,000 KMS (or 193,000 miles) on her currently. Original B18C1 and Y80 tranny. Motor runs very strong and trans shifts beautifully. Brakes are super powerful, drives straight and tight. Interior is all complete and pretty clean. No rips or tears but some stains. It's got power everything, A/C freezes my ass off lol. No accident history and so far everything looks really straight. The car shows signs of light, daily driven city use. Not bad for $1800.

Cons:
-A handfull of tiny door dings
-One spot is beginning to rust
-Drivers window switch is worn
-Sunroof shutters when opening
-Needs exhaust
-Cam seal leaks
-Last owner recommended timing belt job (would do anyway)
-Puffs black when revving high (needs tune up then broken in Brad style )

Plans are to do a bunch of maintenance then leave it stock and enjoy for a while.

Later on I want to rebuild the GSR block, put my B16 head on and make a poor-mans R to about 200 WHP . Suspension wise I'm going to do it right the first time. All new bushings, wheel bearings, ball joints then proper suiting coilovers and sway bars. I don't exactly know what I want yet, its going to take a lot of research.

It needs to be washed/polished/waxed badly. Some fading here and there (typical red).

Stock bulb in one side and 6000K HID in the other. Headlights need a buff.

Questions!

Most DC2 owners remove the ugly side trim. Is it just stick on?

What makes the GSR different from the rest? Like exhaust and brakes ect.

side molding have little tabs that stick into the door .. once you pull them off you'd have to shave the holes if you plan on leaving them off .. main difference from GSR and LS is the motor, obviously .. rear sway bar may be thicker than the LS, cant recall.. thinking its only 1mm bigger, chances are they're the same

only other differences i can think of would be the interior.. the seats have different designs, a lot of GSRs came w/ leather

Aiet cool I'll leave the molding alone...

I want to order a Gates racing timing belt for this thing. GSRs and Type Rs use the same belt. This means a hybrid GSR w/B16 head will use teh same belt?

Prime. I'm thinking all B18C bottom ends are pretty much the same.

I completely blanked out when buying this thing and forgot only '94-'95 GSRs were OBD1. I'm stoked for tuning!

As of now the CRX was faster haha. I'm not saying the GSR is slow but there's a lot more weight and it's moving the accessories.

I got to clean the exterior, remove the wing, put on my B16 valve cover (don't like color anymore), change out spark plugs and wires then do a compression test.

It looks way cleaner without the wing IMO. I need grommets lol.

I'm planning to strip the paint off my GSR valve cover then come up with a color.

Old spark plugs looked new but one was black like a misfire I was scared so I did a compression test and all were about 238 PSI. I swapped plugs and wires from the B16 (a lot less miles) and gonna check on cyl # 3 in a couple thousand.

A friend brought a buffer over and we did the wing-less trunk. It came out nice and shiny but a lot of the paint is turning pink.

I'm also redoing the stereo wiring. They unplugged the tweeters for whatever reason, it sounds a lot cleaner now.

No pictures, my sister took my fucking batteries and memory card for the weekend...and left me the camera.

Do you get Special Edition Integras? They have the same wing as GSRs.

Nice try EG6 but the third teg down with no wing and no emblems = . Might even go with a Honda badge. I like your red tails btw...

My ABS is broke. It went off a couple times when I was tinkering in the bay...so it's unplugged.
Finished off the stereo wiring and speakers, the deck sucks balls but it has AUX for now...meh.
I replaced a bunch of bulbs after I took pics.
I switched shift knobs and found out this bitch has an OEM dual bend shifter!
I got a lot of slack taken out of the throttle and clutch. I have to say the hydro clutch is awesome.
Underneath I found it has two ripped CV boots but the axles don't click at all so I'm going to attempt to fix em.
It needs an exhaust badly, the muffler has rusted right out.

I can't explain how much I love the little things in this car; the map light, sunroof is awesome, power everythang, interior layout, even the exterior has grown a lot on me. I'm just stoked upon the situation. Can't wait to polish the rest up.
