well a friend had a spare diff and case lying around. He got my tranny put together for 300 bucks. The deal was he pays to get my tranny fixed and keeps it,while i get his tranny. That saves me money but i dont get the short gears I just got a call from the guy who put it together saying its ready. We dropped it off 2 days ago! anyhow my buddy says that i can pay and keep it if i want. what do you guys think? I have 700 bucks to play with. I did a side job should i pay to get it back or should i get his long geared tranny?

----origional tranny had 3rd syncro wore but still went into gear with ease. The good side is that it had the shortest gears possible in a tranny

----traded tranny has no defects but has long gears.I'm leaning more to getting my tranny back but i just want your opinions!
I still have to find a lightweight flywheel and maybe a clutch. Lmk of a good website if you know of any besides ebay thats where i have found a 7.5 fidanze for 175. I just dont want to get screwed like i did with my kyb shocks.

Alright i finally got. Its not perfect but ohh well.About a month ago my tranny blew up. literally. I dont have the money yet so it gonna be awhile .the clutch needs to be replace with one that can hold the hp.Oem just wont cut it for me. Axles were shot. Gonna upgrade also. And i need a b16 cable driven lsd tranny.
apparently the rest of the gears are safe. so they can be reused or put in another tranny. they are for sale by the way. VERY SHORT GEARS PEOPLE.... 50 mph at 3k rpms is what i was doing.
Anyway i got a hold of a camara so i figured i'd let you guys know whats been going on with my ride. Enjoy my disaster.

3rd gear teeth grinded a bit but still worked , the syncro wore out

installing this jdm cluster in my 88 dx while i have the downtime

and this is the trajic end for my lsvtec beast. It will dormant for at least 6months to a year if the money goes the way it is...gauge cluster for sale! lol

15 -20 mph roll. I had a zc powered pull next to me and stayed with me for about a second till i got on the gas. Shifted to second and it grinded horribly. When i went to try it again i just heard a big bang and that was it oil everywhere and i pulled over. Fucking car started to give me signs of the weak points. I just didnt listen. First the oem tranny mount was destroyed. Then the axles started spilling grease. The custom tranny mount bracket bent. .

The old motor made 172 with gsr cams, and pr3 pistons. Now the motor has a p&p,valve job,skunk2 stage 2 internals along with all forged EAGLE bottom end at 11.3.1 comp. Big jump in my book. TOO MUCH TORQUE AND HOUSPOWA!

Ive raced a turboed gsr,h22 civic and b20 on a 45ish wet shot. oohh and a jdm gsr in a 88 hatch. They were all shocked that i had all motor. I expect mid to high 13's. Low 13or maybe in the 12's when spray aTRACK ONLY shot of juice. Maybe 75 shot, and i still ahve to decide with kit to get.

Was there supposed to be tranny breakage in those vids? If so, I didn't see it.

BTW, that car sounds mean... I am running stock exhaust from the manifold back on my ls build, just waiting until I have the cash to drop on a full system. My car doesn't get up to speed quite as quickly, I blame my ls transmission. And the integra it's attached to...

no man that was the car the day after the car was tuned and running obd1. The car was loud as hell before. It had 2.25 mandrel bent piping all the way back to my pos super trapp ehaust with no disks. yeah no cat no nothing. When it got up to vtec ohh my god it sounded like a beast. The guys driving it were my mechanics/good friends. this was there first fully built lsvtec build, so as you can see from the reaction they were quite surprided.

The video was just to show how short the gears were. which by the way i still have. they were unharmed during the tranny blow up

ohh yeah second and 3 gear got taken to almost 9k rpms. By the way mike thanks to the tuning the cams were definitly felt. Vtec pulls really hard

My advice - don't buy your tranny back. do a hydraulic conversion like I was telling you and get a type r transmission. Either a jdm or usdm will be fine. You'll get a stronger and younger transmission, and they come with an LSD. You can get them for decent prices as well. You said, you basically are getting your buddy's ls transmission in echange for your busted one? Cool deal. Sell that ls, and you'll have more money to put toward the itr trans. My .02

well my biggest issue was getting the car back on road for my mom. I dont have the money anymore to do the coversion. So thats out of the question. I bought it back already for the sake of the short gears. I just got new axles and starter brand FOR FREE thanks to my buddies at the shop.............they owe me like 400 bucks. Unfortunately they can only charge since they dont have any cash on hand right now. Anyway i got 300 bucks left and with that i'm gonna buy a new 7.5 lb fidanza or exedy flywheel. If i have anyleft over i i'll get a new exedy clutchIF I HAVE ANY MENY LEFT. LOL Later on down the road i will rebuild the tranny again with new syncros and new quaife. but thats loooong down the road. And again it will ony cost me 300 bucks. thanks to my shop friends and their race connections!

Mike i was thinking about the converting and the newer transmission. Hell i was seeing good deals. Honda here sells the type R tranny new for about 1500. I just didnt have the money. And i didnt have the downtime anymore. my mom and dad are sharing are one car and i told them i could help.

My car hasnt been out yet and i've got two races lined up! jdm gsr hatch and a 92 hatch with sprayed 75 dry ls. Apparently word has gotten around town that my car is pretty quick................ever since i beat a turboed 4dr gsr. lol Damn know i gotta fight to stay on top! Any ways thanks for reading guys. it looks like things are starting to go my way. I getting my car fixed and hopefully this immigration thing will be soon over.

i'd buy the clutch and not the flywheel. you need the clutch now right? you said stock clutch doesnt hold the power? or do you have one already?

if you do, then get the flywheel

well the outside plate of the clutch is banged up. It doesnt look like it hurt anything mechanically. The flywhell is just for better throttle response. The car is really close to pushing 200whp. If its not already. The clutch is stock and had plenty of life left when i put the new motor in. DO YOU THIKN ITS GOOD ENOUGH? I might have to wait though unless i get more money. The flywheel i'm ordering today from ebay! heres the links to my options. tell me what you think,.

if you have any suggestions feel free to add them!
