How can you say a build is the 'best build since B's'? Brian's shit didn't run...

That's like saying 'Dude! this zeppelin is totally the best zeppelin since the Hindenburg!'

The assembly of an object "build" is different than it not performing well because of lack of effort at the end. Brians shit did run by the way, it needed tuning and some extra work he didnt seem to want to put into it which i understand.

Great work, i wish i could have upper timing belt covers  .
i have some extras from the old motor. want em, ill sell em to ya :)

anyway, ive been a busy bee the past week. got the car in the garage at work and its in about 3987598673 pieces. head pulled, all electrical stuff disconnected, new motor has the harness on it and its ready to be dropped in, just have to pull the old motor out. doing that tomorrow. tonight i also custom made my own braided fuel lines, and installed the fuel filter. the onlything thing connecting the old motor to the chassis is the 3 mounts. i dont have many pics, but ill get some up. ill def, have some after its all done.

oh and i just payed my deposit on my SMSP header so look for that in the near future as well :)

lsvtec so they wont work for me

they should work. i mean you have a vtec head and you should be able to use the lower cover from the gsr. i mean you are using a vtec oil pump, and everything so i dont see why not.

but if you have the obd2 oil pump my lower cover wont work since its obd1.

the height is off so they dont line up right or something. i have never seen an ls vtec with the t belt covers. if you have i would like to see it.

arent they the same deck height? lol im pretty sure that you could use gsr covers, but make sure you use the gsr bottom cover too. i dont know. maybe your right.

anyway, major progress :)

got the old engine pulled
pulled the tranny
installed flywheel on new engine
swapped over the clutch disc and pressure plate
put tranny on new engine
dropped new swap back in the car
hooked up all electrical connections
installed axles
installed shift linkages
installed header
hoked up fuel lines
hooked up oil pressure guage sender

hit a few hitches here and there, but nothing major. its going smooth, and its about 90% done. just need to do a tad bit of wiring for the guages, install the radiator/battery/intake, and fill it up with fuids. then time to fire it up. should be done in a day or 2 :)

mark up was lost/changed in the conversion to vBulletin.

i believe the gallery was lost too. i dont think the pics work anymore since i had them all hosted on here.

but i got more done :)

got engine running
coolant started leaking like a bitch from that halfass covered hole on the intake
took intake mani off, tapped coolant port to 1/2" NPT and plugged it.
no more leaks :)
wont rev past 4k cause its leaning out, need to work on the map a little.

noticed a fucked up tire, so i bought a new one,

no pics yet. i mean i have some but i have nowhere to host now, so ill try to get some.

host 'em on tinypic.com

and didn't I tell you that the gasket wasn't gonna be enough to keep the coolant from leaking? lol...

i dont remember you saying that, but oh well, its fixed now. just need to work on the map a little and try to figure out why it wont rev past 4k in nuetral. i think there may be the fuel cutoff launch control or something, it revs fine past 4k while driving..

also it likes to die comming off the throttle like taking it out of gear to stop or something, when it goes back to idel, it just dies, or goes on the verge of dying. but if i give it some gas and let it down slow its fiune

yep, fixed the problem of it not rving past 4k too, lol stupid launch limiter.

havent had much time to work on it lately, got my header and ive been doing some work lately so look outfor an update soometime soon :)

w0000t! big updates.

installed:

SMSP header with test pipe
Full-race traction bar
small NRG-CELL battery
"magic" IB spec velocity stack w/ short ram
ingalls rear adjustable camber kit
Suspension Techniques 22mm rear sway bar

no pics as of yet, since my camera took a shit and my brother isnt home to use his, ill get some tomorrow maybe though.

everything seemed to be a bitch to install. we'll start with the full-race bars...

well first to install thee things you have to cut off the radiator mounts. which means you have to commit to the bar before you know for sure if you will run into any problems. which IMO kinda sucks, since i ran into HUGE problems, more on that later. so i whack the mounts off with the dremel and start to put it in place. boom, first problem. the bar will barely fit because the tow hooks were all bent and the frame rail in that spot was slightly messed up. basically the metal had been pulled outward making the surface not flush anymore. some whacks with the sledghammer flattened it out. next i start installing bolts to hold the bar in place on the tow hook location. start tightening down the first bolt and SNAP!, fucking nut tack welded on the inside snaps off. SON OF A BITCH!. so now im faed with a dillema. drill out the holes and put long bolts all the way through the frame, or cut a hole under the fame rail to put new nuts behind it. well i opted for the drilling out the holes. so im drilling away, drilling out the 10mm threads to a 7/16 hole so i can use some 7/16-14x4.5" bolts. all the while whenever the bit gets stuck im smashing my hand into the car. after i get all the holes drilled out i struggle to install them since the bar still doesnt wanna line up but i got it on there, just waiting on the missing bolts from full-race that i needed

next we'll explain how installing the ST sway bar was a PITA. removal of the old one went pretty smooth, but installation was a bit tricky. drivers side endlinks went on fine, but someting was fucked on the pass side. i installed everything the same way (symmetrical) and the endlink was all fucking crooked. i dont really know what the problem was but i just left out one of the spacers and got it close enough.

header install... not too difficult, however i had to remove both block stifffeners for the header to fit. also had to cut my test pipe to length, again, not hard, but a little time consuming with the hacksaw, lol

battery install. nott oo hard but i had to drill and tap holes in the frame rail.

like i said, ill get some pics of progress.

time for pics :)
