Road Trip, need advise!!!
Posted 02-09-2008 at 12:46 AM by Aleaf.CRX
So, I'm taking a trip down to Bremerton, Washington. I wanted some advise on road trips, just in case I miss something. I've never taken one by myself, so I don't know how hard it is.
What should I do with my car that requires little or no money, but gives me a better chance of coming back alive???
It's a about 1200 miles there and back, just so you get an idea. I live in Boise Idaho.
Anyway, I've got some things figured out already.
Also, anyone know any good ways to make a little extra cash??? My jobs are getting slow, so it's not working out how I want it to.
K, thanks!

Just saw your blog on here. i live in seattle, welcome to washington.
first, i would fly if possible. if you don't want to fly, there are a couple options for a long road trip. get an emergency roadside kit. should have stuff like jumper cables, fix-a-flat, flares, and some dry snacks like jerkey and trail mix. get a tune up. check all fluids and tire pressures. I had a tire blow out at 2 am in westen idaho once. that sucked ass. bring cash. it will help pay for stuff and you never know when you will need it. charge your celly before you go and bring a car charger also. you never know what is going to happen. get gas every chance you get. even if it is only $10 worth, you never know where the next stop is. get plenty of rest before your trip. i drove from Salt lake city to Seattle non-stop once. it hurts. stop and stay the night somewhere safe if you need to. stay away from truck stops. those are pretty much the basics. don't speed. cops are assholes. if you are out of state, they will light you up just for fun. hope that helps. so what are you heading up this way for? |

I just need a break. I'm still looking for somewhere to stay though... I don't want to bother my friend with it, I stayed with her last time.
I was actually thinking of stopping Seattle lol. Yeah, but I lived in Bremerton twice my whole life. I just feel like going back, you know? I miss the water... I live in a desert... Thanks for the advise though, that'll help. I just hope my little CRX makes it lol. I swear that thing is possessed. It's so temperamental, it has to be.... |

1, don't take a posessed car on a road trip, clear and CEL's etc
2, make sure your spare isn't flat, you have a lug wrench and a jack, and you know how to use all of them 3, bring some tools, screwdrivers, 1/4 socket set, 3/8's with 10, 12, 14, 17 and 19 preferably deep and an extension or two 4, have directions and a backup map 5, calculate costs, if you get 30mpg you're looking at around 120 just for gas (@$3/gal) figure in food, tolls etc 6, bring a companion, little girls shouldn't travel alone |

Shotgun. Once you have a shotgun, it's like currency. You can get anything you possibly need.
That's a tip from your uncle Cel |
