I know its long but if you know anything about GSR motors and H22 motors please read I need some advice
Okay so I really dont know a whole lot about cars, I know its sad but I dont. I just got out of the marine corps and I just recently got my 91 civic si hatchback out of the shop. I really didnt know anything about the car other then it was fast... really fast. When I got it back from the mechanic he told me I had a rare motor, a first generation GSR motor is exactly what he said and that its preped for vtec headers and a turbo if I want one. They called it a frankenstien engine because its a crate motor shipped from Japan. And the valves are larger then spec and things like that I think he said like 2.0 or 2.2 I dont know. Anyway I just had an offer to do a straight trade across for a 95 honda lude with an h22 vtech motor and some other stuff done to it.
What I really want to know is if there is any truth to those statements about my engine and if a trade for the prelude is worth it or would I be better off just keeping my 91 civic hatchback with the gsr motor and just put the vtech header and turbo on myself

A 91 civic hatch is a good start, vtec is the head and couldn't be prepped for that. But a prelude motor puts down more HP and Torque than a gsr motor. what you need to do is look on the stamp on the engine block to see what exactly you have b18a, b18b, b18c...and so forth. As for the trade preludes are fast, but your hatch could scream also..put a h22 in a hatch and its like having a gsr turbo in your car with a h22 all motor.
