alright, i'm thinkin about having a buddy of mine shoot my car w/ a single stage paint, i'm sick of primer and so is my girl.. .. he has the paint gun and the air tank.. i'm just wondering how much paint i would need to buy for a 94 hatch.. i wont be doing the engine bay at the moment, so less paint would be needed..

and do you know any place that has a decent selection of single stage colors??

paint is paint...when you dont have 1k to spend...

i would wet sand and buy a good primer...donot spray over other paint, it will chip off...gl

if you've still got the stock paint under the primer, then there is no reason to re-spray primer... even more so if you're spraying with cheap paint. if you've still got the stock paint under primer, just sand down to the base color with 400 or 600 if you're going to be spraying metallic. also, i would go with the kirker single paint rather than the paint posted above. you can get it from http://www.smartshoppersinc.com/Kirker/acr...-urethanes.html . they also sell on ebay, but for the same prices as their website. they're very reliable and have a great rep... as does kirker paints for the price.

anyways... buy a gallon. and if your painter isn't expirenced... a pearl or metallic paint wouldn't be reccomended.

its gonna be a pretty basic color until i can afford a good paint job.. its just to hold me over..

it will most likely be silver or gunmetal/ med gray

you can do a full two stage paint job for less than 250 in materials
ppg paint and then a universal clear and your well under 250
