How did you manage the paint job on the inside anyway? I've been considering matching my interior to the exterior. I was just curious how people get it to look as smooth as they do. I found that if you just want to do it black that Krylon paint that bonds to plastic is AWESOME.

How was it prep'd? Sanded? Primered?

Some people say vinyl wraps are easier but they look like a major pain in the ass to me. Besides they would never quite match the exterior unless you are going some neon route.

I just got the new carpet for my teg so my interior still looks like it does on my blog atm.

Atomic Blue Pearl I'm going with for the outside. I wanted yellow but I didn't want to park it next to a purple xB...

Well, actually, I did it the, um, not better way lol. I should've primered it. All I did was wipe it down (I took all the bits I wanted to paint out) and sprayed a coat, let it dry, sprated another, let it dry, then I think an third one. It took maybe an evening and part of the next day. not too long. I painted the back speaker covers (STUPID idea). The fabric's all crusty, so I'm gonna replace it with white fabric. And there you have it.

I'd suggest using a solvant that will strip oils and old cleaners from the plastic, primer it, then paint it with plastic paint. I used Krylon. It's decent.

Hehe I've done a few things the "not right way." Like take a power sander to my plastic bumper cover. Yeah... Trouble is i had the respirator on so i didnt smell the buring plastic til i took it off to inquire why it seemed to be spreading like butter as i sanded.

eBay Motors: Acura : Integra (item 110247648409 end time May-04-08 13:10:50 PDT)

This is what i am after.

Ya'll can shout rice all you want but I like it. All things considered it reminds me gummi savers, crayons, and the night we all took mushrooms to celebrate a friends 21rst birthday, but thats another story...

I'm wondering how I'm gonna smooth the whole thing over. The dash has that foam padded stuff on it as do the doors. The rear panels i could sand down, hit with some high build primer and paint over. The dash and the door panels perplex me though. I suppose i could just rip all the covering crap off and slap some fiber glass on it, sand it, and then prime it. The thought of fiberglass makes me ill though...

well guys yall ant gona believe this lol, but i wanted a paint that a shine to it like clear coat, so all i did was clean the plastic good. and then i painted it with engine paint that you get in a spray can, everyone told me that it would not stick but ive been into paint for a while and new better all you have to do is put a small small coat on and build it up, then you will have a nice shinny paint job that wont chip

heres some tips for anyone that is going to paint interior panels..
1.first sand them with really fine grit sand paper..like 400-600
2.then clean them really well with rubbing alcohol or paint thinner(just make sure to get it off quickly)
3.appl the paint in a "mist" very very very very light coats..light just swipe the can over the plastic quickly and very far from the piece
4.repeat multiple times until it is a solid coat
5.apply normal coates after step 4...(i actually apply the heaviest coat i can without it running)

i have been painting shit for a long time and have a very well sense of how much is enough..i learned this from my moms boyfriend who went to school for autobody/paint
so i know for a fact it works(this is how i do all my work)
if your using primer then apply it the same as the paint.very light coats
