1500 degree temp paint of course. stripping the old paint took longer then painting it. The block and head where orange and the valve cover candy purple.. dont ask.... Last edited by DuckSauce; 08-26-2008 at 12:52 AM. |

I attempted that once. It looked nice, until it got all greasy going in. After about 4 months, the paint started to wear.
Looks good though. __________________

While the concept is nice, and it presents a very clean look to the car, I wouldn't do the whole shaved door thing. Knowing my luck, I would end up stuck outside my car in bad weather and be fother mucking myself.

LMAO I know thats going to happen to me one of these days. Im contemplating on whether swapping dors with someone who wants shaved handles. For that same reason. I also want to get the car re-sprayed. I would like a color that doesnt say; "Hey Officer look over here!" Preferably black or white. |

Nice job man, and the hatch isnt bad either, not too extreme. I almost bought a hatch with shaved handles. I need to clean my engine up better.

I like the engine better than the car
![]() The engine has sort of a retro look to it. As far as the car goes, I'm pretty much not into "that". ![]() __________________

!!! $uck the Austin Police Dept!! They stuck a damn sticker on my car cover saying that I have a "JUNK" car and it needs to be removed from the property or fixed within 10 days! They got me for no motor, tranny, up on jacks tands, no registration and inspection sticker, no license plates. That means the officer went out of his way to lift the car cover which is secured onto the car with parachute cord. not to mention on private property. Just to give my car a thorough inspection.. I think I need to make a call to my lawyer about this ..... I just got Im so mad that its kind of funny.. |

I went through this before, and I tried to fight the same thing. I ended up losing. The cops have the right to look. Even if it is on your property, a lack of registration can result in the 5-0 showing up. I lost my Celica because of that.
Get it towed to a buddies house and work on it there... __________________

I don't really know about Austin's/Texas laws: Anyways, definitely fight it or put it in a garage. If you can prove the car is just being repaired, you should be fine. __________________

Im just waiting to get the head back from the machine shop. Then hopefully tomorrow I will order all new seals/gaskets, assemble the motor when they come in and get the car running. Since no one I know has room at their place to keep the hatch.
