Default Post your audio sytems!

can either be yours or a friends. Just wanted to see how many HS members actually are into car audio.

I'll post my stuff once its done. I still need a battery and a box for my S-10. I already have another 1000/1 and my 13w7 waiting at my buddies shop to go in.

in the meantime i'll post the sickest, cleanest and possibly my favorite vehicle so far.

dont even need to explain what is in there.....

friends at audio addictions did the complete install.

i used to be like that when i had my crx. In fact i sold my first big system (1000/1 and 13w7) to help buy my blue crx.

i loved the sound of themotor that i didnt have a radio for about 3 years. after getting my truck and seeing how slow it was i needed something to distract me...

i love the sound in my xterra....since like taco i also find my truck slow and boring to drive, i had to do up the stereo system

10" solobaric L7 in a custom ported box designed for max SPL, 1200 watt Powerakoustic amp (still running strong after 5+ years of use), Rockford Fosgate 1 farad digital cap, Alpine headunit, 6.5" kicker door speakers, and 6x9" kicker rear speakers. It freakin jams, it surprises everyone that hears it, bass hits hard enough to blur your vision and the overall sound still remains balanced and clear. I feel like its my own personal concert

my car doesnt have quite the same attention, just hasnt been a priority. it does a have a 10" solobaric L7 in a small sealed box, but its only on 400 watts. the deck is jvc, and the other speakers have been replaced but are still pretty wack. It sounds ok, better than factory for sure, but it needs upgrading.

heh audio huh? lol

I got lazy and bought a power inverter and used my powered sub from my surround ssystem for mine. The sub is just a 10" but it sounds nice. Head unit is pretty cheap (180 bucks) but very functional, this is it vvv

XOVision XO1915BT

3" Wide Touch screen TFT/LCD Monitor
Bluetooth w/ built-in mic
Dial/Answer Using Touchscreen
Back up camera input
45w x 4 peak power
subwoofer output
front panel usb port
It's not the prettiest or most feature-packed unit out there, but it gets the job done.

I know how to hook everything up an all, but needed it done quick and cheap cuz I was going on a road trip, but it's been working fine since then so i left it in there.

And I forgot to add, my door speakers as far as I know are still the stockers, but I'm not sure yet because I haven't taken the door panels off... And the little tweeters in the dash I'm almost sure that they are stock, cuz them bitches is hard as fuck to get to.

2x XSL123P5B Sony XPLOD 12" 1300w subs (The black ones not the crappy red ones)
2x XM-2002GTR Sony XPLOD 1200w 2 chan amps bridged
1x GM-6100F Pioneer 600w 4ch amp
1x Scosche 500k capacitor(Came with the wiring kit)
1x Sony CDX-GT200 CD player with MP3 playback
I'm in the works of putting a pc in the car with a 17" LCD mounted in the dash.

The other amp is under the seat and is a pain in the ass to get to.

Yes I put USB ports in my car. They are 5VDC regulated just like what comes out of your pc. I made the circuit card and custom fit the plugs in a blank plate so I could plug my IPOD in and charge it. Total cost was like $10 becuase I had a few of the parts already. A lot better than $30 for a usb carger with one usb plug.

Great idea but poor execution. Should have spent a little more time on it. Props for doing it yourself though!

i think they help a little with sound quality at high volume. having a capacitor helps with light dimming problems, but its hard to eliminate dimming altogether. i think they are worth it with anything over 1000 watts, even if they only help a little.

6.5" off brand co-axials , MB Quart Tweeters (had to get off brand co-axial when MB mid blew)
6X9 old school pioneer 4-ways.
New pioneer deck with bluetooth, mp3, i-pod, blah blah blah Old School
and running effing strong PPI 275 running all four speakers parallel 2ch 2ohm at 150X2 watts. No big bass boom bottom but 6X9's are nice and I don't have the extra weight.

But I can attest from personal experience (and access to the JL Audio box size/spec binder)
That a civic HB sounds plenty sick with one JL 10W1 and 100-150 watts (with the right box)
I had one in my EG and fooled everyone when they would guess what I had for bass

I had experieced audiophiles say "2 12's?" Honda hatchies just have wicked acoustics.

But the power acoustic that was running the 10W1 blew on me. I got rid of the sub (for $250 with box b/c he heard it prior to the amp fizzling out) I spent $90 on the sub and its about $30-40 to build a MDF box/carpet/drywall screws/sylicon/glue/staples. I rolled around with the W1 for a long time and still sold it for a profit to another EG owner.

I wanna say it was 1.25 cubic feet (after port/speaker displacement)
with a 4" port 7.9inches long....but its been a while and can't remember the port size

I added the 6X9's I had lying around after the amp blew.
Only regret is I cut the holes out of the trunk cover to mount the 6X9's.
I was thinking about taking the 6X9's out and running stock EG rear speaker
brackets/grills with a small 8" tucked away all stealth by yours truly but there's no
where stealth for the amps (no even happening under the seat) so I don't do anything lol

Its light and it works well. You get a "bass boost" and its easy to take out the sub, its light enough as-is.

My deck has a option called F.I.E. (front image enhancer) so it takes all of the treble away from the rear speakers.

Then I can use the high pass filter to take the bass away from the front speakers. I get almost no distortion. Pioneer FTW!

/\ I think a little vacuum job would have made it look better. Wasn't that ghetto (unusual improv
with the home-theater sub but not ghetto) Did you run an inverter powered by the car battery?
Its a good idea b/c there are tons of little 8"-10" home-theater subs available for little dough or
free. A few mods for connections and a inverter...done. I like it b/c it takes away a need for an
external amp and can be yanked out when needed

oh hell yeah! thats the best part! it's way easier than the wiring headache that comes with amps/capacitors/caps and all that good shit.

Does the inverter and 110 powered sub drain too much power for teeny weeny Die Hard Civic battery?

To be honest I have no idea if the inverter in my car is doing anything at all to my battery. It's a 400w inverter and the sub is powered by 150w.

It's been in there for little over a month now and the only problem I have had with the battery is when the alternator belt snapped on the way home from South Carolina.

That pretty much killed the battery temporarily but, its still working fine. I have had no adverse effects at all, even though I had my doubts about it at first.

Ok...I have a band pass box with two 6" subs in it. It has the standard two pin connectors at the back, but one for each sub.

The home theater set-up came with the amp, seperate speakers and the sub.

So 'Glassheadlights' has a non-powered home theater sub
And 'cjvictoria' has a powered one (thus the inverter)

I am going to look into a powered 8" home theater one...or a bazooka power car sub
