radio help.

This is a discussion on radio help. in the Car Audio / Security / Electronic Accessories forum
i just picked up an oem radio from a 83 honda accord, but i noticed it only has 3 wires 1 grey 1 red and 1 yellow and red. im wanting to put this in my 83 civic but how would that wire up....

*Usually* Yellow would be constant (12v), red ignition, and grey speaker.

1983 Honda Accord Factory Audio Wire Schematic
Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: White/Blue
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow/Red
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray/Black
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Red/Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Black
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue/Yellow
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray/Black
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Red/Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/White

well i dont even see a solid gray or solid red on the diagram, and its just an am fm radio so why would it need a constant power ?.

ok i got it figured out, the yellow and red is the hot wire as said, the solid red and solid gray is the positive and negative for all speakers.
