So, I have a couple of gift certificates to Crutchfield, and I am looking at both standard upgrades as well as component systems for the S2K....Here is what I have to work with:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rOzr8un...0&I=113KFC1660 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jBLdtoj...400&I=065S65RC http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jBLdtoj...0&I=500SPS171A http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jBLdtoj...00&I=107DB6500 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jBLdtoj...=400&I=065SX60 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jBLdtoj...0&I=107MMC6500 I have a Pioneer MP3 Player in there right now...Mediocre. The worst is that if you put in an aftermarket CD Player in your car, you lose the bad-ass audio controls by the steering wheel unless you buy an adapter for it (another 80-100 bucks.) Any thoughts, comments on what I should get? I am clueless when it comes to speakers, but I know I want crisp, clear sounds--Bass is not a factor as much as clarity and quality is. __________________

The most expensive Polk set you're comfortable buying.
For just a coaxial, go Pioneer D161R. They are a fantastic set of speakers that a local shop uses in their SQ car in kickpods, and they are quite capable. __________________

Just FYI- I went with a set of JL Audio VR components. They're totally badass. Awesome SQ, and plenty of composure to hold veyr loud and very clean with the top down at 100+. You can't buy them from Crutchfield though.
