i own an 89 civic with a 1.5 and a 92 civic with a 1.5. will the engine in the 89 fit into the 92 or does the transmission not line up properly? 89 wrecked rear enad and 92 hole in block, both are automatic, thnx

well with the 5-speed it lines up dunno about the auto, shift points and ratios will be off..

i was told that they both have the same head gasket so if the 92 only needed a bottom end could i use the same head and intake, sensors and all?

Your 89 civic is OBD-0 and the 92^ in OBD-1 the head sensors will line up its just the intake mani. the only way I can see you doing it is useing the 89 head and the 92 intake manifold and the 89 block I assume? and using the same 92 tarnny hopefully it will bld on.
