Ok i have 2 starters my stock one i been using but 75 percent of the time id be push starting my car. but what trips me out is my friends 2000 civic Si starter sounds waay different and every other Honda i have ever herd in my life. pretty much all Hondas till 04 sound the same well mine you never herd it it was silent. well will my friends starter from his old 2000 civic lx 4 door work on my car? i put it on and it looks way diffrent but the bolts aligin up and everything but will the gears catch the flywheel or is it diffrent?
and yes it was off another standard and mine is standard. |

I've never really paid attention to the sound of the starter.
I believe the starters are the same; you can look at the pattern and that'll help you.

If it bolts in; it'll definitely work. I want to say I have a 92-95 starter in my Civic, but I'm not sure. All of the 88-00 D-series flywheels are the same diameter and teeth count.
