so the PG7 : 86-89 Integra (86-87 vac advance, 88-89 electronic advance) will work in a 91?wouldn't the PR4 : 90-91 Integra LS/GS be just as good?

Isn't the one that comes stock with the motor always the best choice? Why would you use a 90-91 Integra ECU? That's a completely different motor...

I understand you want more power, but just haphazardly sticking in a computer from a completely different engine isn't necessarily going to get you that power. A different ECU might raise the rev limiter or inject more fuel at certain points, but if the motor wasn't built to handle it, then what's the point? You'll just be fucking up your engine...kind of like installing one of those crappy E-Bay "performance" chips...

Why do people think a different ECU will make more power.

Probably because they know someone or have heard of someone using a P28 or P72 or whatever for their built motor, and then assume that throwing a different ECU in there will automatically give you a power boost...

Got V-tec?

Quote:
Definately not true who ever said that must be a rookie. Pr4 will run rich it will work but will cause you to run richer not a good choice unless thats your only source. I would rather go with Pg7 or even a Pm6 but Pg7 for being stock is well worth it. If you get a Pm6 make sure its a 28 pin that way you can program it later if needed. Make it worth it if you happen to get a Pm6 |

hands down the best ECU I found for my ZC was a chiped pm6 with modified PM7 maps. I got it from a guy that chips them on theZCR.com. Don't get fooled the best ECU is the one made for your engine! I tied the PM8, PG7, and the PM7 maps make the car run like it suppose to run.
you don't need higher rev limit on the ZC because ~6700 rmp it is done making power. here is a link to that guy. He is really nice and easy to deal with. www.thezcr.com - Auto Electronics if you decide to go for the PG7 I have an automatic one that I used for my ZC at first. Hes done a few of my Pr4 ecus to work with my Ls/V-tec builds and does a hell of a job. Price is definately worth it. ERE OBD 0 PRograms |
