Default Dual point to multi point question

so i have a 89 ef hatch with the d15b2 and i went from dual point injection to multi point injection and it runs funny and sounds like a lawnmower i was wondering i swapped ecu's and did the right wiring the only thing i didnt do was swap the fuel pump could that have anything to do with it?

thanks this dumbass told me it would be fine with the original cause the ecu would tell the fuel pump to supply more fuel but obviously he was wrong

The fuel pump only supplies as much as its supposed to. Once you reach the fuel pumps max velocity it wont provide anymore fuel. No matter what the ECU is telling it to do.

The fuel pump wouldn't make a difference, there the same. I have done many mpfi swaps and never had a fuel pump be a problem.

Just a thought, but did you happen to replace the intake gasket for a new one? If you leak coolant into the cylinder it will make it run like a bag of ass.
