Default sigh... another build thread. but this one will end with epicness

my buddy gave me his old shell. him and i are bringing it back to life. more to come.

the shell

engine bay painted championship white. i may just do this color for the white on the body because it looks pretty good and i dont feel like screwing with a 3 stage paint.

re-powder coated the valve cover. if anyone needs cheap powdercoating for small items in the bay area, pm me.

LSD type r tranny

personal grinta steering wheel w/ a true grant quick release

hasport b mounts

fitting up the other side to the X. not welded in yet, but its almost there

F&F coilover and a turbo (my dogs name is turbo)

thats all for now.

a few new pixorz

there was a front loop welded as part of the cage because this car used to have an h22 running low 9's. i am now making it an endurance car.

road race endurance. not oval track. there are a few events near where i live that cater to endurance road racing and ive been wanting to get into it for quite some time.

yea dude. im pretty sure the power from that engine warped the frame a little because after i cut off the loop and tried to bolt up the radiator support, i had to use the porter frame puller to line up all the top mounting holes. i hope it doesnt effect handling too bad but its nothing a few extra points in the roll cage wont fix

the drivers side frame rail holes were off about a quarter inch but the upper mount on the wall where the fender goes was off about a whole inch. the frame rail is straight now but i just need to tweak the top mount now.

well, to fit the alternator to the H22, the drivers side frame rail has to be hammered in a little bit. i attribute the condition its in to that. id probably be better off getting a different shell and using that, but this shell was given to me, its a clean title 88 si which is becoming more rare by the day. the build continues!

You need bang a bit of the engine bay around to get the H22 to fit

yup and now its pretty impossible to pound it back out at this point. oh well. the frame will be plenty stiff the way the roll cage is and the few additions i will be adding to it.

still can extra insurance especially when building a track car ever hurt? I know I replaced a lot of stuff that was 1,000's of miles before being needed when I did my last swap.

i actually already have some arp rod bolts for a b16a but i wasnt sure if they were the same for the B16b. i am such a noob when it comes to B series engines. ask me anything about K series or L series and i know it all but when it comes to B series, im just a little baby. what type of bearings are a good brand?
