its not suppose to "kick"

by definition if vtec is functioning properly it should be a seamless changeover. If you all the sudden felt a noticeable power increase when you hit vtec then your engine is not running properly. now it is possible you're vtec may not be working at all. if you don't have any ecu codes then run a test wire to position A4 at the ecu. when vtec engages this wire should show +12v. if it doesn't then you've got a problem. now even if it does register +12v you can further test if you see fit by running a wire out to the engine bay and hooking it directly to the vtec solenoid. If you see +12v there at the rpm point and above where vtec is supposed to engage then you know everything is working properly.

Rather than make fun why not help out... If you really want make your vtec feel like it is working harder try buying one of the following a skunk2 cam or an intake manifold w/throttle body spacer and/or just a bigger throttle body. If you really want to feel a "KICK" ditch the d series motor n get a K or B series or even H

Absolutely. A throttle body spacer and an intake manifold will make your vtec kick in so hard your eye's will sink into their sockets. World of difference.

Yes it does, it should kick hard enough to break the back off of your seat if you have it tuned right.

^^sweet deal.

Or you could do a simple thing and just make VTECH kick in at idle. Just turn the solenoid upside down and off you go!! Yo Yo Yo....VTECH....they make sweet phones too!!!

i did wire a relay to the wire for the vtec solenoid to activate nitrous one time that made for the maddest vtec you could imagine +100hp when that shit kicks in its like a rocket ship on crack. i didnt event tell any one that the car had nitrous the bottle was mounted in a 15in sib box with a blown sub with all but the paper cone removed from the back side lets just say the rumors about my car hiting vtec was halarious i even had to give a few ricers a ride to stirr the pot and create more rumors.

sorry guys i mislead many people on what vtec was and it was wrong now many in my area think vtec is like a second motor kicking in

just for the added info one of the reason why most noobs thinks that vtec actually kicks in is well it kinda does. but the reason is the torque drops off right before vtec and when it comes back in the butt dyno tricks the mind lol

i had planned on loomin it all up but the nozzle was my biggest issue i had, if someone knows what they are looking at it would be realitivly easy to spot even more so if a wire tuck has been done.
