Have you tried searching? I'm sure it's been done before, and someone probably has done a write-up on it...

The search bar is your friend. Nobody is just going to hand you information. It's all part of learning.

sounds like you are confused as to what a ZC engine is - there are no USDM cars that came with a ZC engine - all ZC engines are JDM and came in several different configurations, SOHC Fuel Injected, SOHC dual carb, SOHC VTEC and DOHC - 84-87 JDM CRX Si and Civic Si models came with a DOHC ZC which is commonly referred to as the "browntop" ZC since it had a brown valve cover - it will bolt right into the 84-87 USDM CRX and Civic as well as the 86-89 USDM Integra - it will not bolt right into anything else - the same engine was also in the JDM 86-89 Integra - in 88-89 they had the electronic ignition advance instead of the vacuum advance like the 84-87 CRX/Civic and 86-87 Integra - these cars also used the same transmission as the 86-89 Integra - 88-91 JDM CRX Si and Civic Si models came with a DOHC ZC which is the engine that bolts right into the 88-91 CRX/Civic - the DOHC ZC also came in various JDM models in 92-95 and is OBD1 - it will bolt right into the USDM EG cars and can be adapted to work in the 88-91 ED cars - the SOHC versions will all work in the 88-91 CRX/Civic - depending on whether they are OBD0 or OBD1 will determine what changes need to be made (such as wiring, driver's side mount, etc.) in order to make them work

some people mistakenly call the 86-89 USDM Integra D16A1 engines a ZC (probably because they look similar, although a B18A1 looks similar to a B18C5 and nobody calls the B18A1 a Type R) - they are not ZC engines - these engines will bolt right into the 84-87 CRX/Civic - they will not bolt right into the 88-91 CRX/Civic - they use different mounts and different transmissions - they can be swapped into the 88-91 CRX/Civic if you fabricate a new driver's side mount and do some modifications to the 88-91 transmission in order to bolt it up to the engine - not worth the trouble to get a few more horsepower over the D16A6 Si engine

hey man, just trying to help you out, but if you want to be an ass about it, so be it - you do realize that people swap these engines all of the time? - i will tell you this much, if it says ZC, it is at least a ZC block, but it didn't come from the factory in a USDM integra and won't bolt right into 88-91 ED car

My bad im just pissed off bout people giving info that wasnt working the only thing i know is that the trans are the same and that means the same axles but what bout the head stuff like the headers distributer plugwires and will the ac bolt off my A6 will that bolt on the A1 and does hasport make mounts to fit it in my car

If I was to use the B16 ECU and wire it up would it be better than an LS ECU I was plannend on using the car for autocross and the LS ECU will only give me 2-3 Hp on the bottom end but would that give me anymore HP for the motor

Also I talked to Honda Specialist in NC he told me that my wiring harness would work and if I wanted my ECU would be a gas mileage wonder but I wanted to know the LS or Si ECU

And Thanks for the help on this and again my bad bout that

go here and talk to malichite about it - he can tell you everything you need to know - he used the 86-87 browntop but the 88-89 blacktop is easier as far as wiring - mounts, transmission fit-up, etc. are the same for both the browntop and blacktop

D16A1 in 88 Civic - TheZCR.com Forums

Honda-Tech.com: Honda CRX / EF Civic: 91 civic. worth it now?

The A1 I have was the motor that had the highest HP at 137 stock from the factory but on the fresh rebuild im doing it will have more along the estimated line of 150 with some upgrades or hopefully around a stock JDM B16 im just confused about the whole thing and ready to get in done

What do you suggest for internal pistons, rods, bearings, and rings what brand would help the motor hold up through autocross to after awhile boosted drag
