Default hatch dampers blown, replacement?

the dampers, shocks..whatever u wanna call them on the hatch for my 1st gen crx are blown. the hatch is fukn heavy and im having to use a stick to prop it up to keep it open. where can i score replacement dampers? a friend suggested replacing the window with plexiglass. good idea?

i went to auto zone and got a pair. now the thing is taking out the old ones and install the new ones.my friend is comin over tomoro, so besides it being a 2 man job, are there any pointers or anyone know how to do this?

Why is it a two man job?

I replaced them in my buddies teg, they're pretty simple to remove and install. Should be a total of 4 bolts.
