I just bought a 87 CRX SI two days ago and I just picked up this swap to build from this guy '87 Integra Part Out - Red Pepper Racing. I plan to have it boosted so what and where do I get parts to build the motor, and is this something I can do myself with no experience? Also is there a better head to put on the motor I just bought?

Older engine with older parts that not very many tuners actually use. I'd say it'll be hard to find parts for it.

And boosting a car that's not factory turbo is never easy considering all the tuning, let alone boosting it with absolutely no experience. If you can find a bolt-on turbo kit then yea you can probably boost it yourself but it won't last long without the right tune, and I don't think they make bolt-on turbos for Hondas older than an 88.

You'd be better off with an 88+.

what did you get with the swap? just engine? engine and transmission? anything else?

turbo for that engine is same as any SOHC D-series engine
rods are same as SOHC D-series engine
88 Integra crankshaft is same as 88 CRX Si D16A6 - you have to be careful when getting crankshafts as they had 2 different diameter front snouts
pistons for turbo in that engine are not easy to come by because of the large combustion chamber in the head

The swap I got is actually a 88 blacktop.

I got the wiring motor, tranny, harness, ecu, shift linkage, axles, I guess everything I need.

yes, you need the knuckles/hubs - use the engine wiring harness from the Si - use the front transmission mount from the Integra, other mounts from the Si

It's the part that the cv shaft comes through on the outside. you will need those along with the rotors and calipers.

I will check tomorrow to see if I got the knuckles. However I did not get the brake setup. Are the rotors and calipers mandatory?

Yes, you need the calipers/rotors from an Integra, the CRX setup doesn't bolt to the Integra spindles

Also, the 88-89 D16A1 has an electronic advance distributor, your EW motor has a vacuum advance one....you'll need to look up the proper wiring on redpepper to get the motor to run (your engine harness wont have the right plugs)

Ok I installed the integra rotors and calipers both brand new, and this week a prelude master cylinder will be in. The only thing keeping me off the road is a plug for my sunroof hole. I am thinking of using lexan glass to plug the hole. I will get back to the whole engine swap delima when I start liking the car again, because it looks like ass as it sits now.
