I'd probably go for a B-series instead. The H22 is heavy enough to have a slight adverse effect on the handling...

I'm with brutal.

Get a B, and turbo it with something small like a t25.

^ Aye. A swap does put you into a class you can't compete with... easily. Full prep cars/tube frame/etc. I will run mine every once in awhile but I'm not looking for placement or points when I do, just fun.

X3, if you plan on being competitive, an engine swap is not the way to get there.

As soon as you swap the motor on your car, you go to the highest class which is Street Modified (SM). You are competing with the cars that have time and money stuck into them but really means nothing. It is all the driver. My Cr-x is in SM and i beat Z06's with slicks on them and STI's. You will be bumped up in class but just buy some tires with the wear rating of 200 which means stickier tires and some suspension. DONT SMASH THE GAS!!! I have tips for honda drivers out there that autox. If you need help give me a heads up.

I just asked the same thing in 91Accords thread. Wonder if it's permanent, or if he is just in time out

Hears a heads up, WHY WOULD YOU TURBO A FF CAR FOR AUTOX??? gives me more horse power, I look cooler out there, my tires spin and makes me faster. STUPID PEOPLE. keep it NA. That is how you find the ricers on the streets. Kid this past weekend in autox had a turbo in his TC. WHAT A JOKE! fast car but a stupid driver behind the wheel makes it a slow car. Sorry but crap like that makes me laugh.

I was racing in STS with my 89 Dx the guys in that class are some of the fastest times of the day and a majority of the cars are EF SI's. All they have are headers, exhaust and air intakes with tuned in suspension these guys don't mess around you don't need a big motor or a turbo

Agreed. A Civic on a tight autox or road course is much faster N/A. Even with a LSD it's hard to find grip with alot of hp. The hatches are too light. Unless it's for straight lines.. but that's no fun.

Yup that is correct. One of the fastest cars in the cincy-dayton area auto-x is a b20z hatch with a type r trans. He has the jdm type r final drive as well. The car has bolt ons, tein flex coilovers, and race tires. With that setup he's beating highly modded corvettes and subbies.

To know your area for autox just follow autox 89 dx link, it will help finding the region and date there are races on, not just for autox but for other events like rally and road races. Rep for you autox 89 dx just because you know your stuff for SCCA. I am in the badlands region in ND. If you guys can, try to find an ice run. O my is that fun. autox on a lake, you cant go wrong.

agreed... I believe there are some exceptions, so checking the rules on their site or just asking a place that sanctions them helps.

and how the heck did blanco get banned or am i seeing things?
