I have a '94 Civic Ex with a D16z6. my5speed Manual is going out and I am looking for a new Transmission. I have been looking on Craigslist and want to know the best Tranny to get. I Found a D-block Si Tranny. I am currently leaning on getting that.

I would also like to know which D-Block Tranny has the shortest Gears. I would assume the Si which is why I am leaning toward it. If Possible i want to use my same mounts. I assume both trannys would use the same mount. but I could be wrong as well.

my guess would be the shortest gearing is the zc correct?

I think you would need a half shaft for it. I believe they run one. Also if you get a ZC make sure its a hydro tranny and not cable.

so wait the zc version of the d16z6 needs a half? I keep hearing it does and it doesnt. I need to know because im about to drop it in the car lol

Just run a D15 trany out of a 4dr. car thats what i'm runnin on my d16z6 in my hatch

naw it was only slow when i had the vx 1.5 vtech e in it
