I had a Y7 last year, not vtec....dont spin them past 7500rpm without better rod cap bolts. Oem ones tend to stretch and stuff breaks. Thats the way it is with SOHC's though. Not just Y7's but all of them.

another question then ...
is it possible for vtech to be intalled on a y7 engine ..
cuz from the looks of it ...it has vetech solenoid ??not quit sure i could be wrong...

It is possible. It requires switching out the cylinder head, ECU, fuel injectors, adding wires for vtec, and possibly a different throttle body. Do a search on a "mini me" that should show you how to do it and answer any other questions you might have on it.

You'd be better off with a D15b block , a 1.6 ZC block or a low milage D16a6 block. Y7's are garbage.

dont waste your money on VTEC just buy a bigger cam for your non vtec and make more power than the head swap
