For wiring circuit information, see wiring diagrams located on bottom of this page. Some wires have been assigned a superscript to distinguish them from other wires of the same color. For example, the Yellow/Green wire is not the same as the Yellow/Green wire.

COOLANT TEMPERATURE SWITCH
1. Remove coolant temperature switch (located on rear of engine block). Suspend temperature switch and thermometer in a container with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water. DO NOT allow thermometer or temperature switch to touch bottom of container. Heat coolant mixture.
2. Check continuity between temperature switch terminals. With coolant temperature 181-191°F (83-91°C), continuity should not exist. With coolant temperature 191-203°F (91-95°C), continuity should be present.

FAN MOTOR
Unplug 2-pin connector from fan motor. Connect battery power to either fan motor terminal. Connect ground to other fan motor terminal. Replace motor if it fails to run.

RELAYS
1. Remove radiator and condenser fan relays. Radiator fan relay is located on right front inner fender and condenser fan relay is located on left front inner fender (if equipped).
2. Connect positive battery power to relay terminal "C" and connect terminal "D" to ground. For terminal identification, see wiring diagrams . Continuity should be present between relay terminals "A" and "B". No continuity should be present when battery power is disconnected.
