so here it is. im new to Honda's. i have never owned one. Until last week. i have had MANY cars
1. first gen eclipse 2. second gen eclipses 1.VW corrado G60 (supercharged) 2. mrkIII VW Jettas 4. Ford festiva's (swaped the tiny 1.3L in my last with a 1.8L DOHC engine from a mazda Protege... Fun) None compare to what i got now (except the corrado) i now have a 1994 Civic coupe 1.6L vtec sohc i wanted to see what it had so i raced my buddy in his 2000 Eclipse... smoked him i then raced another guy in his 98 integra. (dohc 1.8L. full exhaust, intake.) thought he was hot stuff. until he talked all this trash about my car. and i beat hime by 3 lenths. well i guess what i would like to know. it was are a few things i should invest in to make this thing run even harder. i have lans of boosting it this winter. but what else should i do. as in what is the most cost efficient mods to gain real power? |

so a buddy of mine has a OBX intake manifold. looks nice. chrome. nice welded look. said he paid 200 for it. its mine for 100 (its dirty and used for about 4,000 miles) plus he wrecked his 95 civic and got a 2002. its it worth it? will i gain noticable power? he told me "it will help you out now and after the car is boosted" i boosted my 97 jetta 2.0L ABA block 16V head greddy T3 turbo that i bought from a friend and let me tell you. from N/A to boosted.... WOW whole new machine. then i added a 2001 intake manifold and trottle body.... WOOOWWWW. soo much of a diff. will the OBX help me out that much or should i put the money towards the boosting?

I agree with OBX being crap. Even though it is American made, this company is still selling cheap products. I would also agree to save your money for your boosted setup. But if you really feel the urge to spend money now, then go get your intake mani from skunk 2. You cant go wrong.

1- AEM Fuel rail $168.00 2- Walbro Fuel Pump $105.00 3-AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator $120.00 4-ECU P28 something you can tune $150.00 These are just items you will want when you ready for the turbo setup, and the prices is for new that i quote average. You can look around for use parts and pay a little less in price. My opinion is start with the smaller and put it aside until you ready to turbo then put it all in the car and get it tune right. |

Reasons why: 1. OBX makes shit products for the most part. 2. You don't have the supporting mods for it. 3. The difference even a decent IM would make would only be noticeable on a dyno. Save your money for your winter project. |
