sometimes i rev my 4 door civic up in N and it miss fires badly and if i `floor it and red line it it stops. what could this be? its a new motor.

To answer the original question: start with your plugs, are they NGK's or another brand that does not perform well in Hondas? Next go to the wires, are they old or new ones 6mm 8mm? Next could be in your distributor. Is it leaking oil internally? rotor/cap OK? Let me know, then we can go on from there.

Thanks. Us Texans have to stick together!!! So I read your original question again and processed it a little more. Is it doing it at idle or only when you first hit the gas to rev it up? I don't want to sound like a smart ass but, maybe the tps switch is bad? Fuel filter been replaced recently? I also have had a nissan truck do this before to me and it turned out to be the EGR Valve. Do you have a compression tester, maybe one of the valve adjustments on the head is off? New plugs as you stated but are they all gapped right? let me know.
