hey i just bought a skunk 2 intake manifold. i don't really have any questions im just bragging because im finally getting rid of the nasty dx intake manifold. i will post pics when i get it on. i'll probably have questions about the install later on.

they are overrated. they are pointless unless you have other mods. i would rather get a turbo kit.

go with a Blox or AEBS manifold.. they're almost half the price of the skunk2
or
you could just go with an ITR manifold.. its what the Skunk2 is based off of

the main reason i want this intake manifold is because my dx IM sux. i have limited options with it and with my strut tower bar on my AEM V2 intake wont fit properly. besides i like it.

budget build=budget power. don't waste money on shit that won't do anything. but that's just me. i wouldn't waste my money on something that in the end won't make me any faster. your $1000 you spend on your budget build won't be that much faster.

maybe you don't understand the definition of a budget. it means i have a limited amount of money to spend on building my car. i don't want turbo, or super, or nos. i am building my car how i want with the parts i want, it may not make much power on a b18 or b16 but with a d16 crap manifold im expecting a little bit better than 1.2hp besides i like the part and seeing as how i got for $50 im not complaining

well good luck man. let me know how everything turns out. i'm always interested in hearing results of peoples builds. take what you can get i guess.

you should probably get alittle better throttle responce with that new manifold though, maybe alittle better at lower rpms than stock as far as acceleration, not sure about hp gains though. Thats cool, you do your upgrades the way you want, dont go on other peoples opinions.
