Default Yep. Timing!

Just picked up a 94' si for dirt cheap, the head was done, so i have a y8 head in my garage. i put it on and im running into timing issues. Z6 block with Y8 head, and im using y8 cam gear with z6 belt and its not working

so ive search and heard you have to use:

- y8 cam gear w/ y8 timing belt.
or
- z6 cam gear w/ z6 belt.
or
- either belt w/ adjustable cam gear.

So which is true, i want to use oem stuff if possible, any help would be great

fixed for ya

the y8 is a single cam, while the z6 is dual cam. im guessing you noticed the belt was too long eh?

The adjustable cam gear is going to do nothing to solve this problem. Just use the belt for the Y8 if your using that head.

The y8 and the z6 are both single cams.

FAIL.

Z6 is the Vtec SOHC. The ZC is the Non-Vtec DOHC.
