hey guys! i got a 97 civic lx and the transmission is slipping in 1st and then won't move once its warmed up. what is the name of the transmission that they made for that year of car? Honda was a big butt and said "its a Honda transmission". they couldn;t even tell me how much a new one was. the p/o put penzoil trans fluid in and i wouldn't think that would kill it! it isn;t leaking either! i hear these cars last forever but mabey not.my car has 150k and the fluid is bright red.
