Here's my problem..
my car doesn't have its original OWN harness to plug into. I can by a harness to hook onto the wires of the radio, but there is no other end.
Can I buy that too ? and how do I hook THAT one up ?

also, is it safer to get the harnesses.. cause I think I can link the wires together, granted I get the correct instructions on matching the colors.

its not gona make it any safer, just easy, you still have to mate the wires together on the harness, but all you do is just match the colors

The wire colors on my car are different than those on my radio.

You can't match those.

Listen to ahhvtec and buy the damn harness. Dont cut your factory harness. The wires will match grey to grey, red to red, yellow to yellow, and so on.

As the other guys told you, just buy a damn harness. Once you get a harness you'll see what they're talking about.

Also, do you realize you're in the wrong forum? This area is for 2001+ Civics.
