Default Help with engine swap!

I have a 2003 Honda Civic Ex 4dr and I need more horse power. I was thinking about swapping the engine and then getting a turbo kit. What engine would you guys recommend?

Why not just get a turbo kit?

Because my engine has a lot of miles on it and it wouldn't be able to hold a lot of pressure.

The K-series is really your only option for a swap. B-series or H-series engines won't work in your car...

Try Wikipedia for a good overview. And yeah, it definitely won't be cheap, so I hope you've got a fat wallet. I'd still consider boosting your stock engine. The mileage isn't a huge deal as long as the engine's in good shape. Or, alternatively, source another D17 with fewer miles and boost on that...

Smile K20a2 Swap

I'm currently in the process of doing a K20a2 Type S swap in my 2004 Civic LX 4 door. Getting it converted down from auto to manual etc etc.. Its a HUGE Amount of work. The K20a2 is a incredibly large motor and leaves very little room under the hood.
Just from what i can remember from the top of my head a few things that i had to go through:
-The battery has to be mounted in the trunk because of no more room under the hood
-You cant use your stock radiator, has to be the one out of the RSX
-You need the RSX Subframe
-One of the radiator fans in my swap is new, because One of my stock fans would not work due to that fact that it protruded out too far in the way of the engine
-The wireharness for the Temp sensor off of the radiator as well as the Wireharness for the O2 sensor have to be custom made. My installer had to send some components over to Hasport in AZ to have this done. Infact i am currently waiting on that process right now.
-you will also need a different set of axels and ofcourse the hasport Engine Mounts.
I got my motor from this place http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30015

Dont be fooled though..there are some other things (as mentioned above) that you need besides what is listed on that site. Its still a Good deal though. I wish i could remember more but man its been a process. Not allot of guys have done a K20a2 in a civic yet, due to the price cost..but yeah us 7th Gen civic guys dont have much of a choice if you wanna pass smog lol.
