as stupid as it sounds but emptying your recycle bin, any games or apps you never use delete them and make sure you remove them from the computer not just delete the shortcut. If you have old documents, pictures, or files you don't need delete them.

Congrats on the new computer, just make sure to regularly run an anti-virus and spy ware programs to keep it clean. Another good thing is to keep in a habit of defragging every now and then, and also you might want to invest in an external hdd to store all those music and video files which may bog your pc down.

Late to the party, but AMD processors no longer have "front side bus." Most if not all, have the 2ghz hypertransport. Soon, Intel cpu's will no longer have FSB either.
Anyway, good choice on the Compaq. Theyre owned by HP so I dont think they could be that bad of a quality and it does have the faster processor. The only thing is it has 3GB instead of 4GB to utilize dual channel memory. But dual channel memory is kinda moot in AMD processors. Well have fun witht he new computer. That was a pretty huge jump in terms of processoring power haha. Some good cheap and free virus and spyware cleaners are: Virus: -AVG -AntiVir -Avast Spyware: -Spybot -Hijack This -Adaware Firewall: -Comodo -ZoneAlarm I personally use a combo of AntiVir, all of the mentioned spyware removers and Comodo. On top of that, I regularly clean my cookies and browsing data with CCCleaner. |
